DIXIE LAKE CLAIMS

RED LAKE MINING DIVISION, ONT.

BY

C,D. RUSTON

INTRODUCTION:

Geological , magnetometer and VLF sureys were completed

on the cut grid during NoY'-Dec. 1989 and Jan. 1990. The grid was established by extending the lines cut by TECK MINING CORP from that property on their property

on the east. Lines were cut at 100 meter intervals with stations at 25 meter intervals.

PROPERTY A LOCATION:

The claims coVered by this work are KRL 1057179 to 188inclusive,1057198, 1069906 to 911 being 27 claims forthe geological survey and 18 claims for the geophysicalsurv/eys. Claims 1057189 and 1057191 to 198 were notcohered by the geophysics.

The property is located on claim map G 1769, DIXIE LAKE

AREA and is located some 15 miles southeast from the townof RED LAKE. Access is ^ia HIGHWAY # 105 thence south bylogging road to the property. The claims are recorded in the name of C.D. HUSTON.REDLAKE, ONTARIO.

GEOLOGICAL SURVEY:

Traverses were made along all the cut lines and conditions found are plotted on the enclosed plan. There is an almost complete lack of outcrop due to swamp and overburden which presents detailed geological mapping. The few outcrops found are composed of basaltic mafic Volcanics

with some weak alteration and pyrite mineralization. One area of pillow lava was found on claim 1057180.

Page 4: ON DIXIE LAKE CLAIMS RED LAKE MINING DIVISION, ONT, BY C.D ... · surv/eys. Claims 1057189 and 1057191 to 198 were not cohered by the geophysics. The property is located on claim

Diamond drilling by TECK CORP. on their property to the easthas geophysically indicataed gold bearing sulphides anddrilling is in progress at the time of this report.THICK has also completed extensive geophysical surv/eys ontheir large holding surrounding the Huston property on thesouth, east and north.

It is recommended that the outcrop area east of DIXIECREEK on claims 1057185,18?,190 be further prospected inthe summer months.

THE strike and dip of formations has not been establishedhowever is presumed to be in a general northeast direction.

V. L. F. SURVEY:

The instument used was a GEONICS EM 16 with the transmitter station SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, U.S.A. and a frequency of

24.8 Khz. Readings were taken at 25 meter spacings on the cut grid with the instrument facing south. These data are plotted on the enclosed plans. It is noted that the s/lf response in most cases is located

at or near topographic relief at the side of a hill or along a small degression and the readings may not reflect a true sulphide bearing conductor. The electro-magnetic response is outlined in red on the enclosed plans and for clarity only the quadtature response has been profiled. The instrument was in good working order and a strong transmitter signal was obtained. The strong response on claims 1069908 and 909 is related to the nose of a fairly large hill and one outcrop of barren

basalt was observed and it is believed this is due to topography. Deep overburden appears, to be the cause of the weak response especially in the western portion of the property.

Page 5: ON DIXIE LAKE CLAIMS RED LAKE MINING DIVISION, ONT, BY C.D ... · surv/eys. Claims 1057189 and 1057191 to 198 were not cohered by the geophysics. The property is located on claim

PAGE 3.

MAGNKTOMETER SURVEY:

The instrument used was a proton magnetometer with led readout manufactured by EXPLORANIUM GEOMETRICS LTD, model

G 816, with an accurracy of plus or minus one gamma. Measurements were for the total magnetic field and was set with a background of 60,000 gammas for the area.

Readings were taken at 25 meter spacings on the cut lines and are shown on the enclosed plans.ALL readings were extremely low as can be seen from the plotted results and as no purpose would be served these

data have not been contoured.Previous magnetic surveys in the area to the east and to

the south of the Ruston property has indicated magnetic responses of up to 2,000 gammas over a fair strike length The Huston claims to the south should be considered for further geophysical work that have not been covered by

the present work.

SUMMARY Se CONCLUSIONS!

(1) Geological mapping has not repealed sufficient

outcrop to evaluate the property by this method.(2) Magnetometer surveys haVe not reVealed any areas of

interest.(3) VLP surveys have reVealed an area along the east

boundary of the claims that may indicate sulphide mineralization and should be further prospected.

Respectfully submitted,

.C. D. HUSTON
