From the Chamber...

Dear Fellow Chamber Members, Welcome to the 2013 year for the Greece Chamber of Commerce! We are proud to report that last year was the strongest year ever for the Chamber in terms of our membership...we ended the year with 791 members! Your Greece Chamber is working hard during this time to ensure that the programs and benefits we are bringing to you have real value. We are in the final year of our three-year strategic plan and continuing to work hard at carrying it out. In February, we added a new Signature Event – Greece Health Fair. It joins our other successful Signature Events – Community Awards, Race on the Ridge, Taste of the Town and Small Business of the Year – as highlights on the annual Chamber calendar. Watch for many more exciting benefits and programs unfolding over the course of the next year. Now, more than ever before, we thank you for your continued investment in the Greece Chamber of Commerce.

Paul R. Chatfield, P.E. Chairman, Board of Directors President, Chatfield Engineers P.C.

Small Business Awards: Launched in November 2009, this annual new award program recognizes the top small businesses in the Town of Greece. Finalists and winners are chosen based upon several criteria including entrepreneurship, financial performance, employee benefits and creativity in the face of adversity. In addition to recognizing a Small Business of the Year, we also award a Microenterprise of the Year. Call Sue Edgett to learn more about nominating a deserving business.

Race on the Ridge 5K Run/Walk: Launched in November 2008 upon the completion of West Ridge Road reconstruction, this has grown into a fun, family-friendly charitable event. The 5K follows a flat and fast course around The Mall at Greece Ridge. Each year the proceeds benefit a local charity as well as our own Greece Chamber Charitable Foundation. Since 2008, we have raised over $40,000 for the local community. Call Sue Edgett to learn how you can be involved in the 2013 event!

Greece Health Fair: In February 2013, the Chamber created a wonderful new activity called the Greece Health Fair. Held at the Town’s Community & Senior Center it gives health and wellness vendors a chance to market their company to hundreds of attendees. In our first year we had 40 vendors and between 350-400 attendees. Call Chris Sortino to inquire about how to be part of the 2014 event!

A Note from Jodie….

I never thought that working for a local Chamber would give me an opportunity to

see the world. Chamber travel is still a fairly new concept in the industry but is

quickly growing. I’ve escorted four of our sixteen trips (China, Egypt, Iceland, Prague) and have had some wonderful adventures. I’ve walked the Great Wall, sailed the Nile River, touched an Icelandic glacier and walked the cobblestone streets of the Prague Castle. Along the way I’ve met some fabulous people, tasted

exotic dishes and learned more about the countries we always read about. The trips are designed to give you a top notch experience at a very

reasonable cost! I hope you’ll join us on one of our upcoming adventures!
