This presentation was given in June 2013 to the Lincoln chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators. The originally scheduled presenter cancelled with only a few days notice. The title was supposed to be “Like Facebook on Steroids—Online Collaboration” but I changed it since the presentation was intended to cover my employer's experience with a specific platform. I was given a few slides from the platform's rep which I reworked quite a bit. At the time I gave this presentation, I was interim communications coordinator for the Kansas Area of the United Methodist Church and I was an administrator of the MindMixer site EngageGreatPlainsUMC.org, a cooperative venture by the Nebraska and Kansas communications departments designed to engage United Methodists in discussions about coming together as one new Great Plains Conference.
