CIDC – Activities

GORAKHPUR CITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2014:

MOA Signing:

Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) signed an MOA with Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), New Delhi for “Employment Oriented Training and Skill Development Programme for SC/ST/OBC/Women & EWS of society for 1500 persons under its CSR initiatives”.

The MOA was signed by Shri R. Murahari, General Manager (CSR & SD) of PFC and Shri Ashutosh Bhardwaj (Director –Corporate Affairs) of CIDC.

Since 2012, PFC and CIDC have already successfully trained 1500 candidates in various construction trades who have found gainful employment in the Construction Industry.

CIDC – Activities Engineer’s India Ltd Visit 5th September, 2014

Venue: Vishwakarma Pratham (VKP) Faridabad

We had a visit of Engineer’s India Ltd officials as EIL is also planning to associate with CIDC for vocational

training progress which may be sponsored through their CSR budget. Mr. Adil Firoze GM (CAD) and Mr. Sandip

Samajdar DGM (CSR) visited and from CIDC Mr. Ashutosh Bhardwaj, Mr. M.M Lal explained them about our

activities in general and at VKP in particular. They were taken around for showing the facilities of VKP since it

was 5th Sept and Teacher’s day was being celebrated they also addressed the student’s and motivated them to

become good professionals.

Teacher’s Day Celebration at VKP (Faridabad Training Centre)

Joining the whole nation Teacher’s Day was celebrated in Vishwakarma Pratham by the students and staff

collectively. The day started with the assembly of students in the conference hall where speeches in honor of

the teacher’s were made. We also had guests from Engineer’s India Ltd who addressed the students.

Post lunch Dr. P.R. Swarup honored all the trainer’s with small gifts and the students organized a cultural

program for the teacher’s.

CIDC – Activities OIL 5th Batch Inauguration at Gorakhpur Training Centre:

New batch of vocational training, sponsored by Oil India Limited started on 27th August 2014 in Gorakhpur center.

MoU Singed with Municipal Corporation, Gorakhpur: CIDC and Municipal Corporation, Gorakhpur have decided to work jointly to upgrade the state of physical

infrastructure of the area and jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation of Gorakhpur and also to facilitate support to other such local bodies in the geographical vicinity. CIDC is ready to work in the areas of:

1. Solid waste management

2. Potable water management

3. Sewerage system management

4. Town planning and management of utilities

5. Procurement of project related services for and behalf of Nagar Nigam, Gorakhpur

6. Solar power system

7. Human resource and skilling initiatives

8. And any other services required managing and maintaining the city

infrastructure

Construction Industry Development Council has signed a MoU with Municipal Corporation, Gorakhpur on 3rd Sept 2014. Sh P K Mishra, Addl. Director, CIDC and Sh Rajesh Kumar Tyagi, Commissioner, MCG signed the MOU on behalf of CIDC and MCG respectively.

CIDC – Activities Celebrations of Teacher’s Day at Gorakhpur Training Center:

New batch of vocational training, sponsored by Oil India Limited started on 27th August 2014 in Gorakhpur

center.

CIDC Gorakhpur center celebrated 5th Sept as ‘Teachers Day’. 5th Sept is the birth date, [5 September 1888], of the second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

In morning session, a very motivational lecture was delivered by Sh P K Mishra, Addl Director to emphasize importance of teachers and guru in life. In evening session debate and essay writing competitions were organized. The program was ended with prize distribution to winners and delicious refreshment.

Vishwakarma day Celebrations of Gorakhpur Training Center:

Vishwakarma Puja was organized on 17th Sept 2014 in Gorakhpur center. The CIDC staff and trainees performed a puja to pray Lord Vishwakarma for a better future, safe working conditions and success in their respective fields. The trainers and trainees worshiped their tools in name of Lord Vishwakarma.

Notice for Enlistment/ Registration of Vendors/ Contractors for Supply/ Services

CIDC was established as an autonomous council by the Planning Commission, Govt. of India, to introduce system improvements in the construction industry. Members of CIDC include, PFC Ltd, HUDCO, BHEL, HDFC, EPIL, LIC Housing Finance, NBCC Ltd, BPCL, RITES, E-in-C’s Branch (Army HQ), Airports Authority of India Ltd, Central Warehousing Corporation, CPWD, GAIL, NTPC Ltd, NHPC Ltd, Engineers (India) Ltd., ONGC, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways and Railways, etc Keeping in view, the focus of the government, on providing impetus to infrastructure development, a tremendous opportunity exists in the development process by supplying goods & services to the major Project Owners & their Contractors & Service providers and to meet the same, CIDC is preparing a National database of stakeholders. CIDC & UNECE (UN Economic Commission for Europe) have signed an MoU to set up a Centre of Excellence for PPP projects in Roads and Highways (UNECEP). CIDC has also been mandated by UNECEP to form this database. The task is very large in volume and scope with corresponding increase in procurement of goods & services, increasing from the present annual level of USD 70 billion to over USD 200 billion per annum in the 12th Plan. Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), invites for registration competent and experienced Consultants, Manufacturers for supplying Materials, Accessories, Consumables, etc., and Contractors for providing Services, or Manpower for construction projects and facilities concerning construction of river bridges, highway bridges and structures, tracks for railways, sports stadia, industrial buildings, residential and commercial complexes, integrated projects for power generation and distribution systems, air conditioning systems, finishing/ interiors works, piling located at various locations across India and other South Asian nations. Applications for Registration are also invited for Consultants and Suppliers of Services for PPP Projects in Roads and Highways. CIDC – Activities Gandhi Jayanti Day Celebration at Gorakhpur Training Centre (UP):

Gorakhpur center organised a program to clean Gorakhpur city on 2nd Oct 2014 as the day is declared as ‘CIDC Swachchhta Diwas’. In morning, the program was formally launched by Dr Satya Pandey, Hon’ble Mayor, Gorakhpur in the Town Hall after garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi with Sh Rajesh Kumar Tyagi, Commissioner and Sh P K Mishra, Addl. Director, CIDC. The trainees and staff of CIDC and its partner institute, Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology started cleaning of city main roads and streets. Team of around 200 members comprising of staff, trainees and students under CIDC, performed the cleanliness job. They were very well motivated and inspired by the desire of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Sh Narendra Modi. In the end of the program, team reached to Shastri Chowk and garlanded the statue of our nation’s second prime minister, Sh Lal Bahadur Shastri.

In the evening, CIDC staff visited nearby villages and showed the videos and pictures highlighting the importance of cleanliness and hygiene to motivate the villagers, to adopt the good living practices.

CIDC – Activities New Initiatives:

1. MoU has been signed between CIDC & PFC for training and placement of 1500 candidates selected from U.P. 600 nos., Bihar 400 nos., Jharkhand 350 nos. and Odisha 150 nos. states.

CIDC- Training activities:

1. Under TTS Program, 6 Diploma students and 09 graduate engineers have completed 45 days on-site hand-on training at different construction site on 30.09.2014.

2. Under CIDC-HUDCO Training program, batch of 60 candidates in the trade of General Works Supervisor and Electrician at Chittorgarh (Rajasthan) has been commenced on 05.09.2014.

3. Under TNSDM training program, 2710 candidates have been trained and another 388 nos. of candidates are

under training.

4. Under self-financing program 19 candidates are getting training at CIDC Ghaziabad centre.

5. Under CIDC-OIL Program, 12 candidates (10 in the trade of General Works Supervisors and 02 candidates in the trade of Land Surveyor) are getting training with effect from 10.08.2014 at CIDC Ghaziabad centre. Also under this program 27 candidates (22 in the trades of GWS & 05 in the trade of Land Surveyor) arrived at CIDC Ghaziabad on 05.09.2014 out of which 11 candidates in the trade of GWS went back due to their problems.

6. Under CIDC-HUDCO training program, a batch of 60 candidates (30 in the trade of Electrician and 30 in the

trade of General Works Supervisor) are getting training at Chhoti Sadri, Pratapgarh Rajasthan with effect from 29.08.2014.

7. Under PFC Phase-III program batch of 25 candidates has been commenced at CIDC Phulnakhra, Odisha with

effect from 24.09.2014.

8. Under SJVN program batch of General Work’s supervisor has been commenced with effect from 16.09.2014 at CIDC VKP Faridabad and a batch of Land Surveyor is already running there with effect from 29.08.2014.

Ongoing Projects/ Activities:

CIDC along with Singhania University, Rajasthan has initiated Diploma/B.Tech & a wide range of CIDC training programs for all levels of aspirant candidates. Programs & admission details can be viewed at www.cidc.in.orwww.cipdta.com. Construction companies can nominate their employees in such programs to enhance their productivity.

15 Diploma students have been enrolled in CIDC Internship Program. Internship program are being conducted to provide hands-on engineering experience and to enhance capabilities of the engineering students in construction sector.
