HOW WAS IT MADE? The OPEC was made by

suggesting that they exchange views and explore avenues for regular and closer communication among petroleum-producing nations.

Since it was created until now there have been different members,actually there are 12 members.

WHAT IS THIS ORGANISATION FOR?

The mission of this organisation is to coordinate the oil-producig countries.The goal is to secure a steady income and to secure supply of oil to the consumers.

HEADQUARTER The OPEC´s headquarter

is in Vienna,Austria and

was selected on September

1965.

CREATION OF THE OPEC

The OPEC was created at the Baghdad Conference on September 1960 by Iraq,Arabia Saudi,Venezuela,Iran and Kuwait.

Venezuela and Iran were the first ones to move towards the OPEC.

HISTORY

1970´s -The organisation gain influence and raised oil

prices during the 1973 Oil Crisis to US aid to Israel during the Yom Kippur War.In 1974 it was one of the poorest memver nations .

2000´s -Some factors pushed up oil prices even as

supply remainded hight.Prices rose to then record-high levels in mid-2008 before falling in 2007.
