OpenMRS community has come together to specificallyrespond to those actively building and managing health systems in thedeveloping world, where AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria afflict thelives of millions of people.Their mission is to improve health care delivery in resource-constrainedenvironments by coordinating a global community tocreate and support this software. 2. What is the OpenMRS Community?The OpenMRS community is a worldwide network ofvolunteers from many different backgrounds includingtechnology, health care, and international development.Together, They're working to build the world's largest and mostflexible technology platform to support delivery of health carein some of the most challenging environments on the planet. 3. Although they started out to fix adatabase system in a single clinic in Kenya, inthe last few years OpenMRS has growndramatically to be used both in research andclinical settings in every corner of the planet.They're very proud of the innovators usingOpenMRS to improve health care worldwide. 4. Design decisions are driven by real, not perceived needs.Their software works in the most challenging health care deliveryenvironments.They create a platform that is adaptable to the unique needs of theirusers around the world. 5. They are open, honest, and transparent in both their processesand their software.Their software serves as a platform that empowers both usersand implementers to innovate.They publicly document and share their knowledge, skills,experiences, and failures. 6. Community-DrivenWe believe the best ideas come from people with differentbackgrounds and talents, and we build a community where thesepeople can come together and innovate.We believe in harnessing the wisdom of our software developmentcommunity by creating a safe place to raise concerns, discuss failures,improve existing ideas, and solve problems. 7.
