• Large discrepancy between growing significance of OA and the comparatively small publicity and little practice with German scientists
• Uncoordinated and scattered information about OA
• OA-Information mostly depended on personal commitment of individuals
• Idea to improve the situation and promote OA:
Central information platform which bundles all relevant information and provides reliable information on open access
