OPL will become the Nexus of organizations focused on building a better Omaha.

In its Nexus role, OPL will connect Omaha’s public, private, and non-profit organizations using a megacommunity approach to resolving communityissues. We will facilitate development of a shared vision and priorities,comprehensive agenda, and robust collaborations across organizations with-in each area of focus.

OPL will strategically support these organizations with targeted use of its resources to achieve the larger communities vision. With enabling and emerging technologies, performance measurements both qualitative and quantitative will layer upon each other community wide. This will geographi-cally represent how these coalitions are, over time, moving the needle on the most critical quality of life and equity issues in Omaha :

• Socioeconomic Divide• Community and Civic Engagement• Inclusiveness and Leadership Development• Growth and Infrastructure Needs

There are many organizations working to improve Omaha, and we intend to help.

OPL will develop a Long Reach strategy to create a positiveimpact in the lives of more people in our service area.

OPL will use market segmentation to better understand thelifestyles and lifestages of people in our communities, and will grow the number of patrons by reaching niche interests,individuals, and groups. We will design and deliver customized and personalized experiences, content, and services tailored at each branch, through the virtual library, and in our communities.

OPL’s service area has about one-half million people, and half of them have a library card - the key to opening their worlds. We’re aiming higher, and are committed to doing the work to reach the other quarter million that have yet to discover what OPL has to offer.
