RECESSIONAL HYMN

1. Love divine, all loves excelling, Joy of heav’n to earth come down! Fix in us your humble dwelling, All your faithful mercies crown. Jesus, source of all compassion, Love unbounded, love all pure; Visit us with your salvation, Let your love in us endure. 2. Come, almighty to deliver, Let us all your life receive; Suddenly return and never, Never more your temples leave. Lord, we would be always blessing, Serve you as your hosts above, Pray, and praise you without ceasing, Glory in your precious love. 3. Finish then your new creation, Pure and spotless, gracious Lord, Let us see your great salvation Perfectly in you restored. Changed from glory into glory, Till in heav’n we take our place, Till we sing before the almighty Lost in wonder, love and praise.

ORDER OF MASS

The 10:00am Solemn Mass is sung by the Cathedral Choir.

PROCESSIONAL HYMN ST ANNE

2. Under the shadow of thy throne, Thy saints have dwelt secure; Sufficient is thine arm alone, And our defence is sure. 3. Before the hills in order stood, Or earth received her frame, From everlasting thou art God, To endless years the same. 4. A thousand ages in thy sight Are like an evening gone, Short as the watch that ends the night Before the rising sun. 5. Time, like an ever-rolling stream, Bears all its sons away; They fly, forgotten, as a dream Dies at the opening day. 6. O God, our help in ages past, Our hope for years to come, Be thou our guide while troubles last, And our eternal home.

At the Solemn Mass, the Cathedral Choir sings

Missa Brevis in F A. GABRIELI

KYRIE ET GLORIA POSTCOMMUNION HYMN AURELIA

2. Elect from every nation, yet one o'er all the earth, her charter of salvation, one Lord, one faith, one birth; one holy Name she blesses, partakes one holy food, and to one hope she presses, with every grace endued. 3. Though with a scornful wonder men see her sore oppressed, by schisms rent asunder, by heresies distressed; yet saints their watch are keeping, their cry goes up, "How long?" and soon the night of weeping shall be the morn of song.

4. Mid toil and tribulation, and tumult of her war she waits the consummation of peace for evermore; till with the vision glorious her longing eyes are blessed, and the great Church victorious shall be the Church at rest. 5. Yet she on earth hath union with God, the Three in one, and mystic sweet communion with those whose rest is won. O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we like them, the meek and lowly, on high may dwell with thee.

Optimam partem elegit sibi Maria, quæ non auferetur ab ea in æternum. It is Mary who has chosen the better part; ; it is never to be taken from her.

Ave verum corpus, natum de Maria Virgine: vere passum immolatum in cruce pro homine: cuius latus perforatum, unda fluxit et sanguine; Esto nobis prægustatum in mortis examine. O clemens, O pie, O dulcis Jesu, Fili Mariae. Hail, true body, born of the Virgin Mary; which truly suffered, offered on a cross for mankind; whose pierced side flowed with water and with blood: be for us a foretaste in the trial of death. O sweet, O merciful, O Jesus, Son of Mary.
