5.2 ACCOUNT AND DEBIT REPORT OCTOBER 2013

KEY ISSUES
This report provides information about cheques, electronic funds transfers and
bank charges entries made from the City's bank accounts for the month ended
31 October 2013.
It is recommended that the Council resolve to note the Chief Executive Officer's list of
accounts for October paid under delegated authority.
BACKGROUND
Council has delegated to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) the exercise of its power to
make payments from its Municipal and Trust Funds. In accordance with regulation 13(1)
of the Local Government (Financial Management) Regulations 1996 a list of accounts
paid by the CEO is to be prepared each month and presented to the council at the next
ordinary meeting of the council after the list is prepared.
DETAILS
In October 2013, total payments of $11,576,740.13 including net fund transfers of
$11,249,327.40 were made from the City's bank account. During this period the City
paid $209,327.40 by cheque, $11,367,412.73 by electronic funds transfer (EFT)
inclusive of $52,575.06 of bank charges (for credit card expenses, merchant fees, bank
charges and lease payments) by direct debit.
