Who Should Attend ? Organised by : MAESCO, the abbreviation for ‘Malaysian Association of Energy Service Companies’ established in 2000, is a society registered with the Registrar of Societies. Amongst its constitutional objective is to collaborate with the Government of Malaysia and its agencies towards the promotional of Energy Efficiency practices and develop- ment of Energy Service Companies ( ESCOs) as a recognised business model. With the Government’s efforts to reduce GHG emissions, promotion of Green Technology and the enforcement of the Efficient Management of Electrical Energy Regulation in December 2008, the nation must develop the awareness and local expertise to assist in realizing and implementing the above. With this background MAESCO with the collaboration of Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) has commenced a nationwide Energy Manager training session to meet the acute shortage of Energy Managers in the country through a course that is outlined and approved by Suruhanjaya Tenaga . Upon completion of the course which is conducted by experienced energy managers from MAESCO members and ST, participants will benefit the knowledge received and develop the management skills required to implement Energy Management in their facilities and hence reduce their energy costs. For those qualified, they can be registered as a Registered Electrical Energy Manager (REEM) with ST . Certified Energy Manager Training Course (EMTC) Time: 9:00 am ~ 5:00 pm Venue: PKNS BizPoint, Seksyen 7, S.Alam Management/Technical personnel of facilities affected by ST regulations Qualified professionals interested to register themselves as Electrical Energy Managers with ST Technical personnel from facilities (industry/ commercial) who are interested in building up their knowledge in Energy Management * For participants interest to be registered with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) as Electrical Energy Manager, the minimum qualification are as follows: A Malaysian citizen aged 23 years and above Who ; 1. Holds a certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer under the Registration of Engineers Act 1967 [Act 138] and possess at least six months working experience in the efficient management of electrical energy at an installation; or 2. Holds a degree in Science, Engineering, Architecture or its equivalent and possess at least one year working experience in the efficient management of electrical energy at an installation; or 3. Holds a Certificate of Competency issued by the Commission as an Electrical Services Engineer or a competent Electrical Engineer and possess at least nine months working experience in the efficient management of electrical energy in installation; Participants are required to present a project paper outlining involvement in implementing energy management in their facility as per guidelines provided. Ir. Dr K S Kannan (UNIDO)

Dr K S Kannan was professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and is currently the National Project Manager for the UNIDO-GEF project ‘Industrial EE for Malaysian Manufacturing sector’. Kannan graduated with a B.Eng. in mechanical engineering from Universiti Malaya, M.Sc. (Technology) from University of Manchester and Ph.D. from Universiti Malaya. He is a professional engineer registered with BEM, Fellow of IEM, Fellow IMechE and Fellow ASHRAE and a registered Electrical Energy Manager. He has more than 30 years of experience in the field of energy, being involved in national/international energy projects and consultation.

Ir Francis Xavier Jacob (Suruhanjaya Tenaga)

Ir. Francis is the advisor of Energy Management in the Energy Commission (ST). He graduated in 1977 with a B.Eng. degree in electrical engineering from Universiti Malaya and holds a Master’s degree in Environment. He is a professional engineer registered with BEM. He has been with the Commission and the then Department of Electricity and Gas Supply since 1991. He chairs the Technical Committee on the Standards for Energy Management and also sits in various Standards working Committees.

En Zaini Abdul Wahab (Connecys Sdn Bhd)

En Zaini is a principal consultant and the Director at Connecys Sdn. Bhd. which specializes in energy management consultancy and total energy conservation solutions under the CNS group at local and regional markets. Zaini holds a B.Eng. (Hons) degree in mechanical engineering. Zaini is a certified Energy Management System Expert (UNIDO), a certified HRDF trainer, a registered consultant with Asian development Bank and has been involved as a trainer since 1999.

Ir. Kumarason Kandiah (Energy IR Sdn. Bhd)

Ir. Kumarason is a graduate in B.Eng. mechanical engineering from UTM and also holds a Master’s degree from the same university. He is a registered professional engineer with BEM, registered Electrical Energy Manager with ST and certified Energy Management Expert (UNIDO). He has more than 10 years working experience in Energy Efficient Design and State of the Art Control systems. He has wide experience in conducting professional energy audit, energy retrofit, design concept that details potential savings with performance & feasibility studies particularly in ACMV sy stems.

En Mohd Iskandar Majidi (Climate Plus Sdn Bhd)

Iskandar is a principal consultant and director of Climate Plus Sdn Bhd with extensive experience in renewable energy and energy efficiency fields. He is a graduate in Marine Engineering from Newcastle University, England. He is a registered electrical energy manager with ST and certified Energy Management Expert (UNIDO). He has been providing consultancy services in energy management and energy audit over the last 15 years with main focus on energy sustainability and carbon footprint reduction.

En Dharamarajah VTR (E-Eye Sdn Bhd)

En Dharmarajah is a registered Electrical Energy Manager. He specializes in commercial/industrial facility system energy efficient retrofit and experience in conducting measurement studies, energy audits and feasibility studies. He has wide knowledge in installation and design of energy management (instrumentation) control systems for ACMV and compressor systems. Dharmarajah is a graduate in B. Eng. (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering with Energy Management from City University London U.K.
