At UW-Eau Claire, there’s always something going on — special events like a Bon Iver or Jesse McCartney concert, impromptu activities like slacklining or a Frisbee toss, and perennial favorites like Homecoming, Winter Carnival and Therapy Dogs during finals week. With more than 250 student organizations to choose from, we offer loads of constructive and just plain fun ways to spend your free time. Get that homework done. We have lots to do!

Student organizationsOur students say getting involved is the most important thing to do in college. Do something you love or try something new. You’ll meet interesting people, gain leadership skills and have something to brag about on your resume someday. If you can’t find a group here for you, start your own!

Leadership opportunitiesThere are a variety of leadership experiences provided that help students further develop the skills they are learning inside the classroom to be used during their collegiate careers and beyond. Ranging from non-credit seminars to immersion experiences, and leadership conferences to recognition events, our comprehensive leadership program is designed to engage every style of student leader.

Life after class Like to have fun? We know there’s more to life than studying, so we schedule a variety of entertainment and events. Just take it all in or participate in the planning and execution. The University Activities Commission is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help organize cultural and educational events and campuswide celebrations.

The CabinOur beloved place for gathering with friends, musical performances and poetry readings is located in the Davies Student Center. Free concerts are held nearly every weekend. You are guaranteed to be saying, “Meet you at The Cabin!” more than a few times on this campus.

The LookoutThis all-purpose, all-sorts-of-fun spot is located in Hilltop Center. It’s a student lounge by day and an event space on the weekends. This is the place to be Friday and Saturday evenings for music, comedy and other fun events.

The Forum and Artists SeriesWe bring the world to you through special performances by visiting artists and lectures by distinguished speakers from around the globe.

Campus Film Series You can attend free screenings that represent a wide variety of countries, cinematic styles, directorial methods, genres and points of view. For 50 years this program has helped instill a lifelong appreciation for the art of film.

Greek LifeThree men’s chapters and three women’s chapters comprise UW-Eau Claire’s fraternity and sorority life. Upholding the values of scholarship, leadership, service and friendship, these groups are involved with many community service and philanthropic projects.
