Introduction

This manual aims at guiding international students interested in applying to the University of

Coimbra during their registration and application processes through the InforEstud@nte

online platform.

InforEstud@nte is the platform where students can update their data, apply to study

programmes and consult their transcript of academic records.

We hope that this manual will help you in the insertion of your data in a safe, accurate and

complete manner, so that you can successfully apply.

Should you have any doubt about the contents of this guide or about other issues that are not

mentioned here, please contact the admissions office by email to international-

How to register in Inforestud@nte?

In order to apply to the University of Coimbra you should use the Inforestud@nte online

platform available at https://inforestudante.uc.pt.

If you have never used InforEstud@nte click “register”.

The screen below will appear. Choose “Course application” and fill in the form with your

personal data: full (complete) name, nationality, type of identification document, the country in

which the document was issued (issue country), the identification number, the validity date if

applicable and the email contact.

When you finish the insertion of your personal data, click “Register” and check your email

inbox to verify the message sent to you by the University of Coimbra with your new password.

When you insert that password sent by the University of Coimbra, a new screen will appear

asking you to define a new password, of your own choice, which meets the security

requirements of the information system (8 characters or more, and at least an upper-case

letter, a lower-case letter and a number):

This new password defined by you shall be saved so that you can access InforEstud@nte

whenever you need and follow the status of your application process at the University of

Coimbra.

Once the new password is set and confirmed, insert your remaining personal data so that you

can proceed with the application: date of birth, gender and information of your ID document

(number, country in which it was issued, date in which it was issued and validity).

Once the form is duly filled in, click “Continue”.

Then, fill in your official address. This address can be your usual address or the address of your

parents or legal tutors at your home country.

To insert the address click “Change” and fill in the form that will appear. Click “Continue”.

Note: the name and identification number showed in the image are not real, they were

invented for the purposes of this registration and application simulation.

In “Official contact (2)” please insert a phone number that you use frequently so that the

academic services can contact you swiftly and easily whenever necessary. Click “change” to

edit the field “contact”. Do not forget to add the country and city codes (if applicable) before

the actual phone number.

Then, click “Continue”.

Your registration in InforEstud@nte is finished. You can now proceed with the application!

How to make an application in Inforestud@nte?

Select the link “Applications” and click “New application”.

Choose the study cycle (study level) to which you wish to apply to, organic unit (this means the

Faculty/School that offers the course), the course and finally the regime (i.e. the type of

application). In this case you should choose “International Student” as exemplified below.

In the screen “Confirmation of course and application regime”, read carefully the information

provided and click “Continue” if you are sure about the data you have inserted and the choice

you have made:

Once you confirm your application, the next step is to insert data about your education

qualifications (secondary education or equivalent), the country and the type of school you have

attended, the year of completion of the education qualification and the final average score (if

applicable).

It is also very important to fill in the form about your knowledge of the Portuguese language

and to choose the options that apply to your case. Below, there’s an example of an applicant

who has not followed the Portuguese secondary education and has elementary knowledge of

Portuguese. In this case, the applicant had to tick an extra box stating that he/she commits to

follow Portuguese language intensive courses at UC before the beginning of the study

programme.

Read carefully the information regarding the closure/ sealing of the application. If you need to

change your application data, go back to the page you need to change and save the changed

data. Please note also that you have to upload certain required documents (see next screen)

before closing/ sealing the application.

Click “Continue” to reach the screen with the list of the required documents you have to

upload in PDF format (PDF is the only format supported by the platform).

All documents marked with a red asterisk are mandatory.

Please note that some documents that are not marked as mandatory can in fact be mandatory

in some specific cases, so we advise you to check the documents which have the note:

“MANDATORY when applicable” (for example: “Document with the classifications (grades)

obtained in the final exams of the Portuguese secondary education (“ENES”), which correspond

to the admission exams for those holding a Portuguese secondary education diploma or for

those holding a foreign secondary education diploma, who have made those Portuguese exams

as self-proposed students. (MANDATORY when applicable)”

Once you have uploaded all the necessary documents, click “Seal application”.

You’ll see a warning message asking you to confirm that you really want to close/ seal your

application:

Click “Confirm” and you’ll see the data regarding the payment of the application.

The application can be paid through PayPal or at an ATM machine. If you have doubts about

these payment methods, check the following webpage: http://www.uc.pt/international-

applicants/estudar-viver-coimbra/mais-info/payments.

Once the payment is done (within the time limit indicated in the payment details), your

application will acquire the “Evaluation” status, ready to be checked by the admissions office of

UC.

Now you have to wait for the results of the selection process.
