‘SEE AND BE SEEN’Our concept is based on the idea of the periscope.By reconfiguring the square we allow more life and activities to happen whilst keeping the existing ones in-tact. The periscopes are visual links between the underground life and the movements at streetlevel. At the same time they also shape the square providing facilities to hang out, look at other people and stimulate in-teractions.

At night the periscopes change the atmosphere of the square, projecting images at the streetscape and in-forming the people underground of the nightlife activities happening above ground.

The periscopes also act as guardians of the social life, literally keeping an eye on movements and actions of users of the square and the subway system. At the same time this improves social control and provides more life and activities (activity periscope boxes).
