Past year activities

• Implementation of observation pre-processing and quality control modules

• Development of 3D-PSAS objective analysis algorithm (ongoing)

• Introduction of asynoptic obs: SATOB, Amdar, Wind Profilers, Quickscat winds

• Implementation of LM at ECMWF, with deterministic postprocessing modules (Automatic Weather Interpretation – AWI)

Current activities

• Increase of effective resolution of regional model to ~30Km grid spacing

• Development of 3D-PSAS objective analysis algorithm and porting to IBM platform at ECMWF

• Introduction of ATOVS observations available through the EARS project

• Neural network postprocessing of LM fields
