ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION RESOURCE LIBRARY This collection of more than 4,000 environmental and sustainability education materials is available for loan to Wisconsin educators. OverviewThe Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education (WCEE) fosters universal environmental and social responsibility through the development, dissemination, implementation and evaluation of sustainability and environmental education programs in PK-12 schools and communities. For more than 25 years the WCEE has created and offered professional development for Wisconsin educators in environmental education.

Both face-to-face and online courses are offered, which may be taken individually or as part of a graduate program. Some may also be available for undergraduate credit. Please see the list at right for courses that may be offered at UW-Stevens Point or throughout the state. Details can be found on our website, www.uwsp.edu/wcee.

SPECIAL TOPICS:A variety of special topics courses focusing on wide-ranging environmental education themes are offered annually as NRES 610, 621 and 631. These course numbers are repeatable up to three times under different subtitles.

Professional Development PlansThe WCEE has developed PDP (Professional Development Plan) samples that illustrate how environmental education can be infused into teacher PDPs. The samples, which have been reviewed by educators and a representative from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for accuracy and relevancy, are available on our website under “Professional Development.” In addition, WCEE staff member Gretchen Marshall is a certified PDP reviewer and is available as a Higher Education Representative for your review team.

Please Note:WCEE opportunities are not part of a master’s degree program and do not directly lead to licensure. However, you may wish to pursue a master’s degree or 615 Environmental Science licensure and incorporate WCEE coursework into your program.
