Dear Angus Breeders & Friends,
Welcome to our 21st Annual Fall Female Sale. We hope you can attend and we appreciate the interest and patronage over
the years. We have been raising Angus cattle in our family since 1900 and our grandkids are the sixth generation continuing the
legacy. Our family continues to grow and evolve. This has been an eventful year for our family as we were blessed when Dustin and
Jeana added one more member to the Sankey clan. Miss Mattie Barbara was born July 15th. She is another bright light added to our
family and we look forward to when she is running full speed with Bayler, Caroline and Cyrus.
We have had an amazing turn around in the flint hills since last years sale. The abundance of moisture through the winter and
carrying into spring rains has given us unbelievable grass all summer! We are grateful that this has also provided an abundant feed
supply.
We are really excited about this years sale offering and honestly feel that we are making some of our best genetics available to you
for your programs. Our family and guest consignors have given you a large variety of pedigrees and genetics to go any direction.
We still believe you can raise Angus cattle that cover more than one segment in our industry and this sale group proves that. If you
have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact any of us about the sale offering. If you can’t be with us on sale day we hope you
will come and view the cattle prior to the 28th and bid online at CCI.Live. Hope to see you on the 28th.
Sincerely,Chris & Sharee

At the 2018 Sankey Family Christmas I came across an old Sankey Ranch sign in Uncle Hal’s barn. How he ended up with it is probably a story for another sale cata-log discussion, but it dated back to the early years after Chris and Sharee got mar-ried (1978) and they went home to the family ranch. At the time, Sankeys raised Angus, Simmentals and horses. The sign simply states, “Quality From Every Angle.”
A purpose statement I’m certain was coined by the Sankey legend and ranch founder, HF Sankey - Chris’ grandfather. I took a picture of that sign and something about it stuck with me. The more I thought it over, that purpose statement rings true for our operation now more than ever, 40+ years later.
We strive to raise cattle that have quality from every angle. We believe that cattle first and foremost must have high quality phenotype. We also know in today’s world you have to back that phenotype with genetic information that makes them relevant for today’s beef industry. Finally, we still believe in the value that three generation pedigrees provide. We believe that there is no reason to sacrifice any of those thirds of the triangle for the other. It’s our belief that when you add up all those pieces, you will find the recipe for our success: Creating Angus Cattle that Have Quality from Every Angle.

Our family is strong supporters of the National Junior Angus Association and all the events they put on! Starting with Sharee attending the first ever NJAS to Cody and Jeana being active members of the NJAA and exhibitors at the NJAS along with Jeana serving as vice chairman of the NJAA Board. We are excited for the next generation to take part in this organization when Bayler, Caroline, Cyrus and Mattie start showing. Our family loves to exhibit cattle and take part in Angus cattle shows. We have firm belief though that we don’t raise show cattle, we just show our cattle! Shane Bedwell said it best when he said, “make a cow a show heifer not a show heifer a cow.” We have a family policy that these females have be able to ranch the rest of
their life as mama cows after their 18 month show career is over.
The American Angus Association has been offering Phenotype & Genotype shows throughout the year. We were excited to see one of our customers Mia Hastings win her division with a heifer she purchased from us in last years sale. We think the creation of this show was great for those of us who still make a living raising cows, selling bulls and enjoy showing cattle. We think it’s an important part of breeding good cattle to consider the pheno-
type and genetics of each animal and this show provides youth the opportunity to showcase cattle that excel in those areas.
We are excited to offer an incentive program for both the owned show ring, and the Phenotype & Genotype show ring, for heifers purchased from us in one of our upcoming sales. We will be offering sale credit awards starting at the county fair level, working all the way up to the Roll Of Victory junior
shows and the National Junior Angus Show.
