Our technical and professional courses enable you to progress directly on to an Apprenticeship, university or in to employment. Whether you are a school leaver, or considering changing college, we have so many opportunities available for you from plumbing to hairdressing, accountancy to care, sport to motor vehicle, business to engineering, computer science to bricklaying, catering to the built environment, and art to electrical.

We find our most successful students choose a subject that includes elements they enjoy. Our dual professional teaching staff then combine their experiences from industry, along with excellent facilities and equipment, to open your eyes to the many possibilities that your future holds.

FULL-TIME COURSESOur full-time courses aim to prepare you for your next step after college, whether that’s in to employment, an Apprenticeship or on to university. You will be encouraged to undertake work experience placements, develop your maths and English, participate in enrichment activities and

develop your subject knowledge and technical skills.

GCSE MATHS & ENGLISH

Maths and English are a vital part of the courses at Eastleigh College. They are also key in helping you to gain employment or progress on to further education. We provide a range of courses to help develop and improve your English and mathematical skills.

APPRENTICESHIPS

Apprenticeships combine real work experiences in a paid role,

with structured and supportive learning at college. Students

are full-time employees within the company and earn a

wage. After completing an Apprenticeship, students often

retain permanent roles with their employer. Universities are

increasingly accepting Apprenticeships as part of the entry

criteria for some courses and Higher Level Apprenticeships

can also offer an alternative route to Higher Education,

without the debt of university.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL COURSES

You will need to have:

Good attendance and achievement reports from your previous school or college and complete a successful college interview, demonstrating your interest and commitment to study.

A genuine interest in your chosen area of study.

Some courses will require students without a GCSE grade 9-4 in English or maths to undertake either a GCSE or Functional Skills as part of the condition of their chosen course.

Commit to our workplace values of being; respectful, professional, ambitious and resilient.

The majority of our courses will require students to undertake work experience placements as part of their course. Although the College will help and support this, students are encouraged to actively seek and secure their own work experience placement, including making the necessary travel arrangements to and from their place of work.

For courses that are two years in duration, progression to the second year will only be permitted upon successful completion of year one.

College House is a unique and Outstanding* educational facility, offering an extended curriculum for young people aged 16-18 with moderate learning disabilities, who are also students on the Entry Level Skills for Independence and Work course.
