INFANT BAPTISMS For children under 7 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The parents must register in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to the baptism. Both parents and godparents are expected to attend one catechetical session in advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.

SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church, children over the age of 7 will need catechetical prepa-ration through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will par-ticipate in separate RCIA processes. CONFIRMATION and COMMUNION For those already baptized, preparation for these Sacraments will take place according to the person’s age and knowledge of the Catholic Faith. For further information contact the Office of Faith Formation Program.

MARRIAGES Couples should contact the parish office at least six months in advance to make the proper ar rangements for the Sacrament of Matrimony.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK Dear Parishioners, May is the month that the church takes the opportunity to express honor to Mary, who is our Mother by grace. Two reasons Mary is our Mother are first, she is the mother of Our Savior and second, she is the model of discipleship and virtue to the whole church. Mary gives all of us the example of saying yes to God. She then lived out her yes by following God’s call in life to be Mother of Jesus and to be Jesus’ first and perfect disciple. This month we have many occasions to look at the example of being a disciple of Jesus and saying yes to him. Different celebrations this month show us people of faith cooperating with God’s will in their lives. First, on Saturday night, May 4th we will have our Mothers’ Day Dance. We will give attention to our mothers by sharing a dinner and dancing. Next Sunday, May 12th, we will celebrate our patronal feast day of Our Lady of Fatima, who appeared the following day, May 13th, 102 years ago to the shepherd children, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta. Mary asked these children at that time, "Are you willing to offer yourselves to God and bear all the sufferings He wills to send you, as an act of reparation for the conversion of sinners?" Mary was offering them the opportunity of a special mission of discipleship to help all sinners. Every time we say yes to God no matter how small or large the yes is, it is important and is worth celebrating. This Sunday afternoon at 3:00pm in Nicholas of Tolentine Church, two parishioners of our church will be receiving the Distinguished Parishioner Award from the Diocese. Dorothy McKenna and Ann Ryan. They have given notable service to the church and we thank them for saying yes to helping our parish with generosity. We thank God for the young people who are receiving Holy Communion during these weeks. We celebrate the young people who will receive Confirmation on May 19th. All of these celebrations are won-derful gifts of God’s people saying yes to him. Let us ask Mary to help all of us to continue to follow her model of being in loving union with God.

DEL ESCRITORIO DEL PÁRROCO Queridos Feligreses: Mayo es el mes en que la iglesia aprovecha la oportunidad para expresar honor a Ma-ría, que es nuestra Madre por gracia. Dos razones por las que María es nuestra Madre son las primeras, es la madre de Nuestro Salvador y la segunda, es el modelo de discipulado y virtud para toda la iglesia. María nos da a todos el ejemplo de decirle sí a Dios. Luego ella vivió su sí, siguiendo el llamado de Dios en la vida para ser Madre de Jesús y ser la primera y perfecta discípula de Jesús. Este mes tenemos muchas ocasiones para ver el ejemplo de ser un discípulo de Jesús y decirle sí. Las diferentes celebraciones de este mes nos muestran personas de fe que cooper-an con la voluntad de Dios en sus vidas. Primero, el sábado por la noche, el 4 de mayo, tendremos nuestro Baile Anual del Día de las Madres. Le damos nuestra atención a nues-tras madres compartiendo con ellas una cena y bailando. El próximo domingo, 12 de mayo, celebraremos nuestra fiesta patronal de Nuestra Señora de Fátima, que apareció el día siguiente, 13 de mayo, hace 102 años a los niños pastores, Lucía, Francisco y Jacinta. María preguntó a estos niños en ese momento: "¿Están dispuestos a ofrecerse a Dios y a soportar todos los sufrimientos que Él desea enviarles, como un acto de reparación por la conversión de los pecadores?" María les estaba ofreciendo la oportunidad de una misión especial de discipulado para ayudar a todos los pecadores. Cada vez que le decimos que sí a Dios, no importa cuán pequeño o grande sea el sí, es importante y vale la pena celebrarlo. Este domingo por la tarde a las 3:00 pm en la Iglesia Nicolás de Tolentino, dos feligreses de nuestra iglesia recibirán el Premio de Feligreses Dis-tinguidos de la Diócesis. Dorothy McKenna y Ann Ryan. Han prestado un servicio notable a la iglesia y les agradecemos por decir que sí a ayudar a nuestra parroquia con generosidad. Agradecemos a Dios por los jóvenes que están recibiendo la Sagrada Comunión durante es-tas semanas. Celebramos a los jóvenes que recibirán la Confirmación el 19 de mayo. Todas estas celebraciones son maravillosos regalos del pueblo de Dios que le dicen que sí a Él. Pidámosle a María que nos ayude a todos a seguir su modelo de estar en unión amorosa con Dios.
