Celebrating the Jubilee of Mercy in the Archdiocese of Seattle

A Day of Mercy Saturday, March 5, is one of the high points of the Jubilee for Mercy in the Archdiocese of Seattle, when Archbishop J. Peter Sartain, Bishop Eusebio Elizondo, and priests from across the archdiocese will hear confessions throughout the day at St. James Cathedral. Confessions will be heard in multiple languages from 9 a.m.– 5 p.m. Each hour will begin with music and a brief prayer. All are encouraged to participate in this celebration of the sacrament of mercy during the Jubilee of Mercy.

in our Blessed Sacrament chapel. For more information on the devotion please visit www.ewtn.com/devotionals/mercy/. Also I have added the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick as part of the first Saturday mass each month during this Jubilee. The Sacrament is for any Catholic who is ill in any way, elderly, or preparing/recovering from surgery. During Mass I will invite those who wish to receive the Sacrament to come forward just as we do for communion. Fr. Phil

PARISH NEWS

We’ve had the best time with Catholic Schools Week. Monday was Role Models day, and the children dressed like an important person in their lives. The Bake Sale on Tuesday was so successful it was extended to

Thursday. Thank you to grades 3, 4, and 5 for organizing it! Proceeds will be used for care kits for the Bread of Life Mission. On Wednesday, we had an absolutely wonderful Grandparents/Special Friends Assembly, at which we thanked long-time parishioner and former school parent Dora DeRitis for her consistent support of our school. Thanks to Eric Bradler for the music and program that highlighted Fatima through the decades!! Thursday we enjoyed Pajama Day and spent time with each other reading and watching a movie. On Friday, we focused on Celebrating Our Faculty, Staff, and Volunteers and had the 8th Grade vs. Faculty Volleyball Game. As of this writing, the game has not yet happened, but we are cheering on both sides for a fun event.

Our Annual Appeal for the School Endowment Fund is underway. Many thanks to those who are participating with a gift to our school! Your support truly makes a difference for our students, both today and tomorrow. We are most grateful.

WELCOME DESK VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Volunteers are needed to help out at the Welcome Desk after the weekend Masses, especially after the Saturday 5pm and Sunday 10:30am Mass. Time commitment is 15-20 minutes after Mass to serve our Parish and School Community. You can do one Sunday per month or more if you are so inclined. This is a great way to learn more about our Parish and School

and to meet some of our fabulous Parishioners.

For more information, stop by the Welcome Desk or call the Parish Office 283-1456.

Catholic Home Missions Appeal Strengthening the Church

at Home The Catholic Home Missions

Appeal will take place next week. One way that this appeal works to support home mission dioceses in the United States is by supporting

seminarian formation in poor dioceses. The blessing of seminarians places a financial burden on these dioceses, because educating each seminarian costs $35-40K per

year. Your support is needed for these young men so that they might go back and serve their parishes. Please

strengthen the Church at home by making a generous gift to next week’s appeal.

HUNGERING FOR THE JOURNEY Join our parish community—and nearly 14,000 Catholic communities across the United States—in a life-changing Lenten journey with CRS Rice Bowl. Rice Bowls are included in today’s bulletin and don’t forget to download the CRS Rice Bowl app! Remember, what you give up for Lent changes lives.

It has been many years since our Altar Server Albs (robes) were purchased and they are worn thin and difficult to clean. We would like to replace all of them with a different style alb. If you would like to help us to defray the cost associated with replacing all 36 albs, any amount will help. Each alb costs $200. Please note on your check “New albs” so we can honor your wishes. Thank you to those who have already donated!
