Sirach says that the Lord is a God of Justice who is not partial, but does hear the cries and prayers of the most vulnerable. Saint Paul writes that he has kept the faith and looks forward to the crown of righteousness, noting that it was the Lord who rescued him from evil. In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells the parable of the Pharisee and tax collector who go to the Temple to pray, noting the justification of the tax collector due to his humility.

All Souls Candles Remember a loved one. Honor a special person. Confirmation II candidates will be taking pre-sale orders for All Souls candles during the month of October. The candles will be displayed and available to take home after the All Souls Mass on Saturday, November 2nd. The cost will be $7. Our Lady of Mount Carmel School News

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic School is currently enrolling students. Please visit or call the school office at 713-643-0676 between the hours of 7:00 AM - 3:40 PM to schedule a tour. Students in Pre-K used their sense of smell to identify different scents. Peppermint, lavender, vanilla, orange, and lemon. Each cotton ball was saturated with a scent. The children matched the pictures to smell of the cotton ball.
