Padre Dennis Venegas
Thank You Thank you to our CCD director,
teachers, students, and their families for providing such a
beautiful First Communion Mass last week. Everyone's strength and
dedication illuminated this very challenging catechetical year!
Dear Parishioners, Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity. Today's readings speak to us about the unity of creation and salvation in the Holy Trinity. God is one God in three persons. The God we worship exists only in relationship, in the eternal communion of three persons, Father, Son and Spirit. The Word created the world. God Himself guided the Hebrews to the promised land. The Son of God became man and suffered and died for us on the cross. Through the Holy Spirit, we are able to address God as our Father. The Holy Spirit is the love between God the Father and God the Son. The Holy Trinity inhabits our hearts and speaks to us in our hearts. The Trinity is life and mystery. To paraphrase St. Paul’s saying, we can say: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no words are enough what God has prepared for those who love Him”. The Church is the family of God's adopted children, and one of the things revealed to us is the mystery of the Trinity, that God is a community of love - a family. This is why the Bible uses three words: Father, Son, and Love, in some way to express the mystery of the divine life. Our souls inhabited by the Holy Trinity is a reality that we must discover and enlighten in our lives. The man who lives in the state of grace is a living temple of the Most Holy Trinity “Jesus answered and said to him, “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him” (John 14:23). From the day we are baptized, if we do not reject Him by mortal sin, it is God who is in our heart: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We have God inside us to help us, to be with us, because He loves us. In addition, this leads us to fully communing with God and serving others. Saint Teresa describes our soul as a wonderful and luminous "inner fortress" that Jesus advised us: "Be perfect, just as your Father is perfect in heaven” (Mt.6:46). We are all called to holiness. The Bible will remind us that while we enjoy the privilege and gift of being part of God's family, we also have a mission and duty to live and share this life with others. If we are children of the Father, who always takes the initiative of love, sharing and giving, then we, his children, must be like our Father, the first to love, share and give to others. This was Christ's last commandment: "Go and make disciples of all nations and baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." (Mt.28:19). We can only make disciples of all nations if we ourselves are true disciples, witnesses, and mirror images of the Father. We are called to be like Jesus and do so by doing the Father's will. Jesus was the obedient son of the Father. We owe obedience to his commandments and must imitate the characteristics of His life. Jesus lived for his Father and we are also called to live for the Father. This life is only possible in and through the Spirit. Jesus was obedient to the Spirit and led by the Spirit. If we are members of God’s Trinitarian family, we will always be led by His Spirit and He will infuse the spirit of His love into our lives. Like the candle service on Easter Eve, we are called to pass the light we received, to spread this wonderful knowledge to everyone around us. We must share with others this love we have received from God. Have a blessed week! Father Dennis Venegas

Saint Boniface (June 5, 754)
St. Boniface was very bold in his faith and was well known for being very good at using the local customs and culture of the day to bring people to Christ. He was born in Devonshire, England, in the seventh century. He was educated at a Benedictine monastery and became a monk, and was sent as a missionary to Germany in 719 instead of becoming abbot for his monastery.
There, he destroyed idols and pagan temples, and built churches on the sites. He was eventually made archbishop of Mainz, where he reformed churches and built religious houses on those sites.
He was martyred on June 5, 754 while on mission in Holland, where a troop of pagans attacked and killed him and his 52 companions.
