Religious Education for Children Beginning in October Classes for children and their parents are from 9:40 am -10:25 am every Sunday from October to May
Preparation for First Holy Communion, Reconciliation and Confirmation is a two year program. Children in first grade may enroll in this diocesan program. At the
end of year one, the children will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The second year is a prepa-ration for receiving First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
Please register your child in first grade, if your child is in school and has not yet been baptized. If Baptism is to be celebrated, there are various steps along the way that will be explained. Children attending Catholic schools must also register. Older children are welcome and partake in a special preparation program. A special meeting for all parents will take place in September and will be announced. The basic program will be explained and your questions answered. PAD Donations. If you are a frequent traveler or are away from your parish for a long period of time, consider giving your offering by a Pre Authorized Debit. You can set up a Pre-Authorized donation (PAD) directly with the parish office by signing a written agreement on the form provided. This agreement is to specify the amount and frequency of your offerings. These Pre-authorized donations can be changed or cancelled at any time with 20 days notice to the par-ish office. Thank you for your support.
Bequests and Wills. In your kindness, please remember Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in your bequests and wills. If anyone wishes to make such a bequest in their will, the following clause may be included or added to a will or added by codicil: “I give, devise and bequeath the sum of $... to Our Lady of the Rosary in Victoria, BC, to be used for the benefit of the parish and its pastoral activities.”

From Bishop Gary Gordon blog: Fish with the Bish! This past weekend Merlin and I were host to Max Durando and Brenda Martin, parishioners of St. Andrew’s Cathedral, who bid on and won the ‘Fish with the Bish’ prize at the Bishop’s Gala in April. Skies were fair and seas were (relatively) calm as we headed out from Tahsis on the IXTYS for a weekend of fishing. The excitement of the chase struck quickly, and Brenda was soon doing valiant battle with a 15-pound salmon, all the while calling to Max for reinforcements! Max was also victorious, capturing a 20-lb salmon, and more. Accommodations and meals were graciously provided by Westview Marina, owned and op-erated by John and Cathy Falavolito, and a good time was had by all. Holy Land Group is coming to our parish on the weekend of August 20/21. Saturday August 20, the display will take place in the basement and Sunday August 21 will be in the parish hall, before and after masses. Please have a look at the religious olive wood carvings displayed as you are leaving. These articles are hand crafted by the Christians of the Holy land who are seeking your support today to assist them in staying rooted in the land of Christ. 70 years ago, the Christian population was 20 % of the whole population, now they are only 1.0%. It is also a way of preserving a local cultural heritage which is in danger of being lost as a more Christians feel pressured to leave their homeland for economic and political reasons. These religious articles can be used as gifts for first communions, Christmas and other occasions. In addition, some of these articles can be used as a means of praying and providing comfort, strength, and even hope for people who are suffering.
