Children’s Bible Story Activities Every story in the Bible helps us to get to know
what God is like, what we are like, and the way
God wants us to live. Working puzzles together
with family members is one way to share God’s
word while enjoying one another’s company. God made many
promises to us. Among them is the promise to remember His
covenant with us through a very visible sign. That sign is a
RAINBOW! Read Genesis 15-17 and then work the puzzle with
your children. They will remember what God said to us every
time they see a RAINBOW!
“Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it
and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all
living creatures of every kind on the earth."

Today is CHRIST the KING Sunday! Every year on the last Sunday before Advent, we
celebrate the feast day of CHRIST the KING. Jesus is a good
KING who loves His people so much that He died so we
could go to Heaven.
What can you do to show Jesus that He is the
KING of your life? What can you do to show
your friends that Jesus is YOUR KING? What
is something special you can do today to
celebrate the FEAST OF CHRIST the KING?
A PRAYER FOR THOSE WHO HUNGER
O GOD, look with compassion on the one in seven
Americans who face hunger in this country.
Preserve their dignity as they struggle to get enough
to eat.
May those looking for jobs find new opportunities to
earn a living.
May those who are unable to work be supported and
sustained by their communities.
Amen.
“Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting ones self in the
hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice
in the depths of our hearts.”
-St. Mother Teresa From Bread for the World—a collective Christian voice urging
our nation’s decision makers to end hunger at home and abroad.

Liturgical Assignments for December 1 & 2, 2018
NOVEMBER 30 DEADLINE
Please be certain if you have an unpaid pledge for this year that it
is paid by November 30th so that the parishes do not have the
burden of paying the pledge.
We are still quite short of the goals at both parishes so it will
automatically become an assessment on any shortfall from the
original goals, There is still time to make your pledges if you
haven’t already done so.
This year’s campaign ends
November 30th.
Figures are as of October 31th
LOURDES ROSARY Still needed Still needed $9,853.67 $6,763.69 Figures include all unpaid pledges as of November 7th.
THE MOHAWK VALLEY CHORAL SOCIETY
and Orchestra conducted by Randy Davis, Artistic
Director, will be performing Handel’s Messiah on Sunday
December 9 at 2:00 pm at the Church of Our Lady of
Lourdes, 2222 Genesee St. Utica. Soloists include; Anita
Firman, soprano, Sun-Ly Pierce, Alto, Nathanial McEwen,
Tenor and Marc Webster, Bass.
DEAR ST. ANTHONY, come around, something’s lost
and must be found.
Missing from the Choir Room at Our Lady of the
Rosary are 2 reusable bags of sheet music. One bag is
black with the letters WIC on it. The other has handles.
The contents are of great sentimental value to the
owner. If you have any information or know the
whereabouts, of these bags please call Donna Roberts
at 315-723-5771.
ADVENT BEGINS
NEXT WEEKEND
Advent comes from the Latin word meaning "coming." Je-
sus is coming, and Advent is intended to be a season of
preparation for His arrival. While we typically regard Ad-
vent as a joyous season, it is also intended to be a period of
preparation, much like Lent. Prayer, penance and fasting are
appropriate during this season.
Advent is not as strict as Lent, and there are no rules for
fasting, but it is meant to be a period of self-preparation. The
purple color associated with Advent is also the color of
penance. The faithful should fast during the first two weeks
in particular and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
The color of the Third Sunday of Advent is rose. This color
symbolizes joy and represents the happiness we will
experience when Jesus comes again. The Third Sunday is a
day of anticipatory celebration. It is formerly called
"Gaudete" Sunday; gaudete means "rejoice" in Latin.
Finally, Sundays during Advent, just as during Lent, should
not be given to fasting, but instead to celebrating. We
celebrate the resurrection of Our Lord every Sunday. It is
important to remember, however, there are no particular
rules for how the laity should observe Advent.
Together we are here to serve you
BAPTISMS: We joyfully welcome all into our Church family
through this sacrament. For couples expecting a child, we
encourage preparation to begin during pregnancy. Please

ble.
MARRIAGES: Couples seeking to be joined in the Sacrament
of matrimony are asked to make arrangements with our Pastor
