Dear Parishioners,
[Drumroll in the background] “And hheeerrrrreee’ssss…the Parish 100th Logo!!” You’re going to be seeing this a lot beginning May 6th. (And if you didn’t RSVP for the picnic yet, tomorrow is probably the LAST day we can take reservations. We have to get a count in for the caterer. We don’t want anyone to starve but we don’t want waste either. Email to [email protected] with the number attending. Thanks!) We’re going to plaster this on everything from banners to bulletins to business cards. You’ll see it at every event we’ve got planned and it will be the headline of the website. And why? Because this year we really want to Remember, Celebrate and Commit. 100 years is a lot to remember. If you want an aid, you can go to Amazon and purchase our Parish history which was recently published by one of our own. It’s got pictures from the decades as well as some of the funny and heartwarming stories that make up a parish. It also serves as a witness to the faith and dedication of so many people, named and unnamed, who have been so committed to this Parish and building up the Kingdom of God in this corner of Bucks County. Remembering all the good (and even the difficult—we have to be honest with ourselves) does give us something to celebrate. So many children brought to the faith through education and formation, sports and sacraments. So many people getting involved with Carnivals, Bazaars and all the other fundraisers (which you can’t spell without FUN) over the years. So much comfort offered to those in material or spiritual need through the generosity of time and treasure of so many loving people. All of the events we’ve got planned want to highlight some aspect of so many good memories and I hope you take advantage of what this year will have to offer. And to commit. One thing I like about this logo is that we took the image of Our Lady from the stained glass in the front of the Church. I’ve been impressed with that artwork since I first came here as Resident priest. The title dates to the late 1800’s but the artwork is a more modern treatment of the classic image. It’s respectfully and beautifully done. And to me, it embodies with idea of who we’re called to be as a Parish—taking the timeless message of salvation and presenting it respectfully and lovingly to every present generation. We will change how we educate, form, play and pray with each other as technology and times change. That we will commit to educate, form, play and pray will never change. That we will do so with as much respect and beauty and love as we imperfect humans can is also hopefully part of who we are as a Parish. So enjoy the Logo, enjoy the Motto and enjoy the Picnic! Let’s get this anniversary off to a great start. God bless. Fr. Schiele

FORMED – ON-LINE FAITH FORMATION Content For All Ages ~ A Gift from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart
At the Last Supper, before his death & resurrection, Jesus left us the Eucharist and told us how to worship him until he comes again. If you sometimes find Mass “boring” or just something you “have” to do, take time this week to learn what an incredible gift the Mass is.

From Your Parish Health & Wellness Ministry…
April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month
Most crash risk charts show risk of alcohol concentrations beginning at 0.08 and upwards. The extremely high crash risk at high alcohol levels makes it difficult to see the dramatic increasing risk that also occurs at low alcohol levels.
After 0.03, crash risk rises rapidly At 0.04, there is an 18% increased risk At 0.05, risk is 40% higher than it is at zero
alcohol concentration Each drink of alcohol consumed increases the
risk of crashing, beginning with the first drink For single vehicle fatal crashes, about twice
the number of drivers will be involved in crashes at every 0.02 increase in alcohol concentration, compared to drivers with zero alcohol concentration
A threefold increase in injury crash risk has been found with alcohol concentrations below 0.05
The risk applies beyond the drivers. People who consumed only one drink were more likely to ride in a car with an alcohol-impaired driver, increasing their risk of crash involvement by almost four times.
