OUR STUDENTS ARE HOSTING A WEEKEND LONG EVENT…

IN HONOR of our SENIOR ADULTS

Our Senior Adults have lived through truly remarkable times, huge technological advances and

drastic societal and cultural changes. Our Middle and High School students are living in the world

our Senior Adults helped to mold and they have seized it and molded it into their own world—

for better AND for worse.

Our church is made up of people who worship in close proximity but who live worlds apart. Both

generations look at the other and scratch their heads and wonder “why are they like that?”

At the end of March, we want to bring these worlds together and have a discussion.

On Friday night, March 23rd, our students will come together for a discussion about The Wisdom of

the Ages. Though this is primarily aimed at our students, all are invited to join us.

Our discussion truly begins on Saturday, the 24th. We will have breakfast, lunch and a cookout that

night. There will be a series of activities where our senior adults engage in team activities with our

students. All of this builds up to our afternoon activities where we will have discussion panels and

Q/A session where we all just talk to each other and learn about what teenage life was like back

then and now. There will be a BIG activity afterward and we hope you will join us. We need you to

register simply so we know how much food to get. Registration forms are at the Welcome Center.

WINSHAPE HELP NEEDED

We need everyone from 11th grade and older to help in some way with our WinShape community outreach

ministry. This is a day camp ministry that will touch the lives of over 200 kids in our area. The WinShape staff does

the hard work, we just need volunteers who can:

• Lead kids from point A to point B at the camp during the day

• Help provide meals for 40 staffers each night (this would be a GREAT Sunday School class project where each class “adopts” a night)

• Help coordinate snacks

• Be willing to do staff laundry Sunday afternoon the week of camp (the staffers do not have easy access to wash-ers and dryers).

Please contact Janet Porter and ask how you can help.

VACTION BIBLE SCHOOL

VBS is scheduled for July 9th—13th from 9am-12pm, Save the date to volunteer that week. Registration will be open

LEADERSHIP TEAM—WEEK OF PRAYER

The Week of Prayer for North American Missions and

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering (AAEO) are events in which we

participate annually as Southern Baptists.

The Week of Prayer for North American Missions is March 4-11 this year.

During the week we will pray for specific missionary families and their needs on the mission field. On March 11,

we will have a dinner with speakers Jon and Bonnie Carr! Jon and Bonnie were church planters in New York. They

will share their experiences with their ministry and how the AAEO helped them in their ministry. Williamson

Brothers barbecue will be provided by the church, so reservations are requested. You may bring a dessert to

share.

The purpose of the special offering is to support the efforts of the North American Mission Board’s Send North

America strategy, as missionaries and church planters push back lostness in the United States and Canada. One

hundred percent of the offering is used to support missionaries and their work.

The 2018 theme is “On Mission: Here and Now”. The Scripture verse is “We must not love with words or speech,

but with truth and actions” (I John 3:18, HSB).”

Our church goal is $6,000. Please pray about your participation in this special offering for our missionaries. Your

sacrificial gifts transform lives by spreading the good new across North America!

YOUNG IN HEART

A reminder to all who have intentions of participating in the AARP Safe Driver Course that this is scheduled for

9:00 am on Thursday, March 8.

March 2018

TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY

The Ladies Tuesday Morning Bible Study meets Tuesdays at 9:30am. The study is Dr. David Jeremiah’s Revealing the

Mysteries of Heaven. Contact Caroline Singletary for additional information.

MISSION OF THE MONTH-MARCH

As we continue to reach out in Christ’s love, we are focusing on those here in our community, nationally, and inter-

nationally. The AWANAS will be collecting individually wrapped snacks for The Adventure Center. Our Home Mis-

sions (Annie Armstrong Offering) emphasis is an integral part of who we are as Southern Baptists and we will be col-

lecting items for

Operation M.A.T.T. mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Look for the complete list of items needed on the

Mission table. Thank you for your unselfish gifts and prayers for those God has placed in our path.

WOMEN’S MINISTERY

IF: Gathering was inspiring, insightful, and uplifting time of fellowship and challenge. We are grateful to the women

who planned this event and all their hard work! We are continuing to expand this ministry and meet the needs of all

the women in our church and community. The next event will be a luncheon on Saturday, April 14—BLOOM WHERE

YOU’RE PLANTED. More details to follow!

Also, Kennesaw FBC is hosting a Priscilla Shirer simulcast on 4-28-18 and flyers will be available for information/

registration.
