When you are unable to receive Holy Communion, you can made an Act of Spiritual Communion. To do
so express your faith in Christ and in His Presence in the Eucharist, and ask Him to unite Himself with you.
The basic elements of an Act of Spiritual Communion are an Act of Faith, an Act of Love, a desire to receive Christ, an invitation to Him to come into your heart.
The following text presents a popular form of an Act of Spiritual Communion written by St. Alphonsus de
Liguori. Simply face the Tabernacle if you are in a Church or Chapel or, if at home face the direction of the closest Church.
SPIRITUAL COMMUNION PRAYER My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most
Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I
desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at
this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least
spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You
were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
Regina Caeli: Latin, English and Spanish.
This is one of four Marian antiphons, with following versicles and prayers, traditionally said or sung after night prayer, immediately before going to sleep. It is said throughout Eastertide. (That is, from Easter Day through Pentecost, the sev-enth Sunday after Easter. The Regina Caeli is also said in place of the Angelus during Eastertide.
Regina Caeli
Regina caeli, laetare, alleluia; Quia quem meruisti portare, alleluia, Resurrexit, sicut dixit, alleluia: Ora pro nobis Deum, alleluia. ℣. Gaude et laetare, Virgo Maria, alleluia. ℟. Quia surrexit Dominus vere, alleluia. Oremus. ℟. Amen.
Queen of Heaven
Queen of heaven, rejoice, alleluia. The Son you merited to bear, alleluia, Has risen as he said, alleluia. Pray to God for us, alleluia ℣. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia. ℟. For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia. Let us pray. O God, who have been pleased to glad-den the world by the Resurrection of your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, grant, we pray, that through his Mother, the Virgin Mary, we may receive the joys of everlasting life. Through Christ our Lord. ℟. Amen.
℟. Amen.
Open to me the gates of holiness:
I will enter and give thanks.
This is the Lord’s own gate.
Where the just may enter.
I will thank you for you have answered
and you are my savior.
The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the corner stone.
This is the work of the Lord,
A marvel in our eyes.
This day was made by the Lord;
We rejoice and are glad.
O Lord, grant us salvation;
O Lord, grant success.
Blessed in the name of the Lord;
the Lord God is our light.
Go forward in procession with branches
Even to the altar.
You are my God, I thank you.
My God, I praise you.
Give thanks to the Lord for he is good;
For his love endures for ever.
Glory be to the Father...
estremezco. Cuantas culpas, cuantas gracias
perdidas. El infierno a la verdad merezco, mas
no quiero agregar nuevos pecados
desconfiando de Ti, Salvador mío. Solo quiero
