Outstanding Flexibility and High Output

Kverneland Taarup

Square Bale Wrappers

Intensive and continuos product development

enables us to offer the most sophisticated

product range within bale wrappers and set

the standard in this line of business. The

constant focus on product quality makes

our bale wrappers a competent and

In 1985 Kverneland Group developed the principle of wrapping grass bales in plastic stretch film for making

silage. A radical new method for grass harvesting was being introduced. This principle has grown to become

one of the most widely used methods world-wide for grass conservation.

trustworthy partner in the processing of grass.

Close contact with research institutes

ensures that Kverneland Taarup wrappers

offer all the important features required for

making top quality baled silage. With the

product range of Kverneland Taarup bale

wrappers, we have a range that suits all

requirements. With the option of turn-table

wrappers and satellite wrappers, mounted

and trailed versions, the product range suits

the demands of modern farming perfectly.

2

We know how to make topquality baled silage!

With a number of unique features

Kverneland Taarup offers the most

sophisticated product range of bale wrappers

on the market to optimise silage quality.

Kverneland Taarup pre-stretcher

ensures even film stretch

throughout the roll, is easy to

operate and has low maintenance

requirements.

Change of film rolls

Change of film roll is quick and easy to do

on a Kverneland Taarup pre-stretcher.

The empty core is released by pushing the

upper handle sideways and up, all in one

movement. Put on the new film roll, flick the

handle back in position, and the roll is being

locked instantly. The pre-stretch rollers are

kept away during the exchange by an easy-

to operate lock that automatically releases

by just pushing the lower handle after film

roll exchange. Low lifting height of the film

rolls is achieved thanks to the low design of

Kverneland Taarup balewrappers.

Easy adjustment

The pre-stretcher can be adjusted up and

down to ensure that the film is positioned at

the centre of the bale regardless of the bale

diameter. The pre-stretcher comes as

standard for 750 mm film. A spacer and

applicable belt drive kits are available for

turntable wrapper for use of 500 mm stretch

film. Alternative gear ratios are available,

giving appr. 70% pre-stretch of film in

moderate temperatures, or appr. 60% pre-

stretch for higher temperatures.

Gentle to the film

Kverneland Taarup bale wrappers offer a

unique pre-stretch roller design with conical

roller ends that keeps optimum width of the

stretched film. An additional benefit is that

the cones are gentle to the film edges, which

gives fewer problems with film tear.

The rollers are made of aluminium, to avoid

the build-up of tack from the film resulting in

overstretch of film and film tear.

A special pattern keeps air and water

Precise rotation

The Kverneland Taarup square bale wrappers

have been designed to ensure smooth and

even rotation of the bale in order to achieve

the correct stretch film overlap.

4 Robust rollers are always taking care of an

even rotation even for loose or asymmetric

bales. The relationship between bale and

prestretch rotation is tightly controlled, and is

always adapted to one or two pre-stretchers

depending on what is being used.

During the wrapping cycle the bale is allways

evely supported by the 4 strong, steel and

ribbed rollers. This simple construction with

a mechanical satellite drive has low

maintenance and is very maintain and service

friendly. Next to square bales round bales can

easily be wrapped.

Fast and reliable wrapping of square and round bales

The hydraulic cutter gives a clean and secure cut.

The three-point mounted wrapper are loaded by means of a tractor equipped with a loader and a bale grip. After wrapping, the finished bales are tipped off hydraulically4

The Kverneland Taarup 7124 three-point

mounted wrapper represents simple but

very reliable way of wrapping silage bales.

When the bale is transported to the storage

site for wrapping, the Kverneland Taarup

7124 is the ideal solution.

The top model offers the maximum in output

and silage quality. The entire wrapping

process van be controlled remotely from the

loading tractor (model C)

During transport the wheels can be folded inwards.A second bale can be carried on the loading arm, whilst the first is being wrapped. After wrapping the bale is fast and gentle on-the-move unloaded with no need for a fall damper.

Kverneland Taarup 7524

The Kverneland Taarup 7524 is a trailed

square bale wrapper which can handle bales

up to 1200 kg. The ‘C’ model offers either a

fully automatic operation or a choice of manual

override of function by function operation.

Choose for example that you want the bale to

wrap automatically when loaded, but remain

on the wrapping table until you confirm that

you want to offload.

Operation of the filmcutter on the ‘M’ model

is connected to the table function.

Wrap as You Balewith

Impressive capacity

Kverneland Taarup 7664 ‘ProWrap’ has a

capacity that you didn’t know was possible

to achive with a square bale wrapper.

This thanks to a unique hydraulic system,

operated by a proportional valve and

controlled by optimized computer control.

The machine is also equipped with new

satellite drive design which allows

increased satellite rotation speed.

In normal conditions, you will be able to

wrap the bales in the same speed as they

arrive from the square baler! The drive-through design of the wrapper allows you to load bales in revers, to pick up bales that accidently are dropped next to the side of the field.

6

Strong and reliable wrapper

Kverneland Taarup 7664 is the right solution

for contractors and farmers who demand

high output and reliable performance.

It provides a flexible and very efficient

solution for the wrapping of both square and

round bales. Kverneland Taarup 7664 is

based on the Kverneland Group’s long

experience of manufacturing bale wrappers.

Intensive and continuous product

development is the basis of the development

of Kverneland Taarup 7664, a wrapper that

has been improved in a number of features.

Kverneland Taarup 7664

Taarup 7664 allows you to wrap on the move. Pick up one bale and wrap it as you move on to the next.

Fast and Reliable Wrapping

7

Satellite arms for high output

There is two satellite arms on each bale

wrapper. By using two satellite arms, less

time is used to wrap the bale.

In addition, you don’t have to replace the

film rolls as often. The pre-stretchers are

mounted close to the bale. This limits the

amount of air which is trapped, even when

the satellites rotate at high speed, thereby

producing higher silage quality.

Precise rotation

The rotation of the roller and satellite arms

is closely controlled and ensures correct

sealing of the wrapped bales. The satellite

arms and the two roller arms are controlled

by electro-hydraulic valves.

A computer provides the user with a

continuous overview of exactly where in the

process the machine is at any one time.

Film cutter

The film cutter with sharp knife gives clean

cut. The film is held securely while one bale

is tipped off and another loaded.

Once a bale has been wrapped it is placed carefully on the ground and the machine is ready for the next bale

Loading of bales

The tractor is driven up to the side of the bale.

The arms with the twin rollers care-fully lift

the bale off the ground without causing it

any damage. The bale is automatically

placed in the best position for wrapping.

Reducing stress on the bale

During loading, the bale is lifted straight up,

in order to prevent it from becoming

contaminated by any earth, and when the

bale is unloaded, it is gently lowered rather

than being tipped off. This ensures a gentle

handling of the entire wrapping process, and

reduces stress on the bale.

8

Loading and Unloading

Careful handling

Kverneland Taarup 7664 is based on a

loading principle which does not damage

the bale. During operation, only rounded

components come into contact with the bale

which results in careful handling of the bale.

Kverneland Taarup 7664

Kverneland Taarup 7664 can be set

to handle all bale sizes

In order to adapt Kverneland Taarup 7664 to

various bale sizes, the wheels and roller arms

are adjustable. Changing from square to

round bales is fast and simple. Sensor-

monitored speed regulation (optional)

ensures that the rotation of the bale and the

satellite arms is well coordinated and that

sufficient film overlap is achieved.

Square or round bales

Kverneland Taarup 7664 is capable of

handling large square bales measuring

70x70-90x90 cm and rectangular-end bales

measuring 60-90x70-120 cm, with a maximum

length of 180 cm. In addition the machine

can also handle round bales with a diameter

of 120 cm. This ensures a unique flexibility

and maximum output with the bale wrapper.

Taarup 7664 can be delivered with sensor-monitored speed regulation. This system automatically varies the rotation speed of the bale according to its position.

When film is applied to the long sides, the rotation speed is reduced so that the plastic film overlaps properly.

This ensures more even distribution of the film over the entire surface.

9

Flexibility to Suit both Round and Square Bales

Kverneland Taarup pre-stretcher

ensures even film stretch

throughout the roll, is easy to

operate and has low maintenance

requirements. Sensors linked to a

computer provide the user with a

continuous overview of exactly

where in the process the bale

wrapper is at any one time.

Gentle to the film

Kverneland Taarup bale wrappers offer a

unique pre-stretch roller design with conical

roller ends that keep optimum width of the

stretched film. An additional benefit is that

the cones are gentle to the film edges,

which results in fewer problems with film tear.

The rollers are made of aluminium, to avoid

the build-up of tack from the film resulting in

overstretch of film and film tear. A special

pattern keeps air and water away as the film

is being stretched.

Change of film roll is quick and easy to do on

a Kverneland Taarup pre-stretcher. The empty

core is released by pushing the upper handle

sideways and upwards, in one movement.

Put on the new film roll, flick the handle back

into position, and the roll is then instantly locked.

All four rollers operate via hydraulically

driven heavy duty chains and sprockets.

The 7664 is fitted with a swivel hitch

headstock. This allows wide turning angles.

The 7664 is equipped with a quick and

efficient emergency stop.

To keep silage in the best condition, you need a stretch film that offers durability and good adhesion.

One that makes a bale air and water-tight, secure and long-lasting.
