• Birth : 18 March 1801. • Gun & shell Factory Cossipore was set up in 1801.• 17 more factories were set up before 1947 to

- further colonial interests.- avoid costly and unsafe transportation.

• 4 factories came up between 1947 and 1962.• 20 factories were added after 1962.
