INVOCATION

CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 47:5–7 ASV

✤ HYMN No 01 Praise to the Lord, the Almighty

BEHOLDING CHRIST 1 Peter 2:1-10

“God is gone up with a shout, Jehovah with the sound of a trumpet. Sing praises to God, sing praises: Sing praises unto our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth: Sing ye praises with understanding.”

Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone,”and “A stone of stumbling And a rock of offense.” They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

HYMN No 02 Christ is Made the Sure Foundation CONFESSION OF SIN Matthew 6:9–13 Pastoral Prayer Ruling Elder Mark Donovan Collect:

ASSURANCE OF PARDON II Chronicles 7:14 Ruling Elder:

HYMN No 03 Jesus, Master, Whose I Am

TITHES AND OFFERINGS Giving of Our Gifts Offertory

God the Holy Spirit assures us that, "If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Therefore, to all who by God’s grace confess and turn from their wicked ways, I declare by the authority of His Word, that our sins are forgiven. Amen.

Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

Your kingdom come. Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.

And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power

and the glory forever. Amen.

✤ Doxology: Praise God from whom all blessings flow,Praise Him all creatures here below,Praise Him above, ye Heav’nly hosts;Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

✤ Gloria Patri: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in thebeginning, is now and ever shall be,world without end; Amen, Amen.

(2 through 5 year old children now dismissed to Children’s Church)

Taste of Love Ministry We have many new families in our church who may not know of this important ministry and I wanted to take a moment to inform you of it and to also update our volunteer list.

What is the purpose of this ministry?

To provide meals on a temporary basis to Severn Run members in the event of a serious long term illness, surgery, or the birth of a child, in order to ease some of the stress put on the family.

What does temporary basis mean in regards to this ministry?

This will depend on the need of the family, and on those available to take a meal. The meal coordinator will provide sign up days as discussed with the family in need, and will fill as many of those days as possible with meals.

How does a family go about requesting this ministry?

Requests for this ministry should come from the family themselves, but in some cases a friend might suggest that the meal coordinator check in and see if there is a need. The request can be made through the church office, or to the coordinator directly via email or a phone call.

How do I get involved with this ministry?

Fill out the bottom of this form and turn it in to Rebecca Van Devender to add your name to the list of volunteers. She will email you as needs arise.

What does volunteering for this ministry require?

You will be emailed with sign-up information when a need arises to prepare a meal for a family. Information about the family’s allergies or strong dislikes will be provided to you.

DEACON/MISSION FUNDSThe ‘Deacon’s Fund’ will continue on every 3rd Sunday of each month. It is used by the diaconate to accomplish whatever works the Lord brings to the attention of His church. In 2016, God has used the donated funds to keep people from losing their home, to help a young mother leave an abusive situation, and to affirm and encourage lifelong believers in their reliance upon Him. These are all people connected to our church in a personal way as either members or in relationship with members. Thank you, Severn Run EP Church, for giving to this Fund which the Lord uses to glorify Himself in mighty ways. As the Deacon’s Fund becomes depleted, we lose the freedom to minister in that way. The ‘Mission’s Fund’ will continue on every 2nd Sunday of each month. It is used for short-term missions, either local or abroad (such as our trip to Belize). It is also used for other mission related projects, to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. Both are giving outside your regular tithe. Thank you for your giving!
