The Village on Buffalo Gap Road Shopping Center is a 65,000 sq. ft. strip center located in
the center of activity in town. The Center is adjacent to and ties in with a newly renovated
Market Street and a Long John Silvers. The Center has common access agreements with
Market Street and it all appears to be one center. The major tenants within the center are
CVS Pharmacy, Chase Bank, Subway Sandwiches, Avis Lube, Texaco Gas & Go, Pure Water
Ice and Tea Company, and Icon Fitness. Adjacent to the Shopping Center we have a Hilton
Garden Inn, and a Popeye’s Chicken.
This location is in the area of the major residential development that has occurred in the
past thirty years. It is within several hundred yards and on the same side of Buffalo Gap as
the Mall of Abilene. The Mall is a 920,000 sq. ft. enclosed mall, opened in 1979, with Sears,
J. C. Penney, and Dillard's as anchor tenants. It is also within several hundred yards of the
MCM Elegante hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott hotel, Buffalo Wild Wings Restaurant,
TaMolly’s Mexican Restaurant, and very near several upscale apartment complexes.
The Center fronts principally on Buffalo Gap Road, which has an annual average daily traffic
count of 23,816 cars in front of the Center (2015 traffic count). The 65,000 square foot
Market Street store, which opened in 1984 as Skaggs Alpha Beta, is one of the highest
volume grocery stores in town and is newly remodeled.
Rebecca Lane, which fronts the center on the south, is an exterior loop to State Highway
277 and the entrance to Dyess Air Force Base. It has become a major arterial street since
it was widened and extended to Dyess.
Ridgemont Drive, which fronts the center on the west, is a major street used for access to
the Mall of Abilene, Target, Lowe’s and several hotel/motels.
