Transition and Next Year’s Classes

In order to best support our children with their move up to their next class, we will be holding transition after half term. Children will be spending time in their new classes with their new class teachers in order to prepare them for

September. We will continue to stream for Maths and English in some classes, as we currently do.

The children will come into school through their usual school door. They will be taken to the hall and dismissed with their new class teacher. At the end of the day, children will return to their old class teacher and leave school through their

usual exit.

Transition will take place every Monday and Tuesday after half term. Our new Reception children will also be joining us on these days to support their transition into our school.

benefit of the community)

IT Gadget Drop-In: 1:00pm—4:00pm (bring your mobile, sat nav or any other device you need help with)

Thursday

IT Course: 10:00am—4:00pm (enrolment required) Yoga: 1:30pm—2:30pm (£2.50)

Friday

Knit and Natter: 12:00pm—2:30pm (sewing and knitting group)

The UCAN Centre is also available for computer access, job seeking and use the library from Mondays to Saturdays.

(Children in Year 6 will also be supported by our new teacher, Miss Jarvis)

Staff Announcements

Miss Lever will be leaving us after half term. Her current class will be taken by Miss Wright when they are not taking part in transition.

Miss Roscoe will return for transition, and will be back full time from her maternity leave in July.

Summer 1 Smiley Reward - the Circus

Adult Blogging Competition

We would like to remind relatives of our adult

blogging competition! You can take part in this by leaving comments on any of our school blogs. This includes our whole school blog and sports

blog as well as our class blog.

Any adult relative of our children can take part -

mums, dads, uncles, aunties, grandparents and so on. Also, older siblings who do not

attend our school are invited to join in.

The competition is open now, and will run until

Monday 17th July. The prize will be a £50

Argos voucher.

school website.

Currently in the lead are Husnain’s mum (3T) and Maddison’s mum (4L).

Bolton Council have been running Careers Work-shops with our Year 5 children, in order to support

them in thinking about what jobs they would like to do when they are older.

Year 4 took part in workshops to develop their resilience and wellbeing. They enjoyed learning

about how to ’bounce back’ when something has upset them, and discussed things that they are

grateful for.

One of our children has won the Bolton Schools ICT Online Safety

Competition! Well done to Aisha N from Year 5B for her fantastic online

safety computer game, which she designed on 2DIY 3D on Purple Mash.

The judges were amazed with the online safety messages she added into

her game for players to see.

Aisha has won a free trip for her class to Bolton Schools ICT for a Lego

Mindstorms workshop in June — well done, Aisha!

Our children have been absolutely thrilled to enjoy their smiley reward this half term of the circus! Lots of fun was had by all. Please visit our blogs to
