Question 1 Theories of leadership (for example, Conditional Outdoor Leadership Theory, Situational Leadership Theory, Transformational Leadership Theory) provide models to assist a leader in choosing the most appropriate style of leadership for a particular outdoor situation. Scenario: You are leading a walking group in an alpine region. You set out in the morning and the weather is clear and sunny, and the group is in good spirits. Shortly after having a good lunch, the weather starts to deteriorate. The mood of the group is noticeably changing and you are still several hours walk from camp. In a carefully constructed extended response: • Choose and describe one leadership theory that would inform your decision-making in

this scenario. Justify your choice. • Describe one additional leadership theory that you have studied. In your answer

highlight the main differences, and any similarities between this theory and the one you used in the scenario.
