    BrochureDescription:A two sided olding brochure.

    Programs used: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Google Images.

    Date: 12.3.2013

    Course/Instructor: Comm 130-02 / Julie Peterson

    Objectives:Set up and align a two-sided, olded document.ww

    Create an original company logo and use it in a brochure.

    Incorporate quality images. (Incorporate at least our quality images (Not including the logo). One should beclipped in Photoshop and text-wrapped in InDesign so the text ollows the c utout shape o the image.)

    Write at least 250 words o original copy with at l east three paragraphs.

    Process:I first created a ne w logo or a made-up company, Cupids Cupcakes. I created the cupcake in Illustrator, andthen placed it in my InDesign document. Afer I finished my logo, I set the margins and rulers on my InDesigndocument and created the ront flap first. I used the pen tool to create a repeating chevron pattern that bordered

    my logo. I then used the rectangle tool to fill the entire pack panel with the same red rom earlier. I then addedanother page, and set the rulers or the inside o my brochure. Afer I did this, I used the rectangle tool to changethe entire background the cream color rom my logo. I then added all my text, and changed the paragraphormatting options so that I had line style paragraph ormatting, and so my headings were all ormatted as well. Ithen ound the our images on google that I wanted to use, and opened them in Photoshop. I selected the part oeach picture I wanted, and saved the selection. I then refined the edges and used the smoothing tool and the eathertool. Ten I saved them, and placed them on my InDesign document. Afer I placed my pictures where I wantedthem, I wrapped my text around on o my images.

    Objectives:Learn basic photography skills.

    Use a digital camera to take a quality image, then download it.

    Size and crop the image. 6x6 resolution 150

    Adjust image brightness, contrast, hue and saturation levels.

    Use a selection tool to isolate a portion o the image.

    Desaturate the selected portion o the image.

    Use a filter or colorize a portion o the image.

    Process:I first took the picture at home with my camera. I then uploaded the picture into Adobe Photoshop where I

    cropped the photo, and used the quick selection tool to desaturate the background flower petals. I then used extrahue and colorization to make the ront petals really pop, and look extra pink. I also added brightness, saturation,and contrast as the final touch.them, I wrapped my text around on o my images.

    Process:I first scanned my picture rom a magazine and imported in into Microsof Word. I then c reated my ad layout,ormatted the title and the background, and then ormatted the body copy. I also imported a Make-A-Wish logorom Google images, and placed it into my ad design.

    Description:Tree logo variations or the same company.

    Programs used: Adobe Illustrator.

    Objectives:Create a variety o logos to fit a company or personal image (at least 3 new logos).

    Do not imitate existing logos or use your previous designs.

    Use only the tools o Illustrator. (No photos on logo page)

    Setting up a proessional display or the company. Arrange three logos on an 8.5 x 11 vertical page / .5 margins andadd the company name in simple type at the top o page.

    Getting eedback rom outside sources. Ask ten people to select their avorite logo. List the results, along with youravorite, in your blog post.

    Process:I first went to the Darling Magazine website and got a eel or the company. I ound that they were very eminine anddirected towards women, so I wanted my logos to demonstrate that. I mainly used the text tool, but I altered my text

    by adding outlines and ungrouping the letters so that I could manipulate each individual letter. For the first logo, Imade the D a lot bigger than the rest o the text, and I made the curves more pronounced. I then separated the otherletters so there was more space in-between them. Ten I added the magazine and aligned it in the middle o theD and the curl o the G. For my second logo, I used the shape tool and drew a circle. I made the outline a thickerblack line. I then added another circle in the middle, and made the stroke very thin. Ten I added a cursive D in themiddle, standing or Darling. For my last logo, I wrote out the text I wanted, then I encased it in brackets. I changedthe colors o the onts, and then enlarged the brackets to the size I wanted.

    Process:I first ound the pictures on Google images that I wanted and then placed them onto my Photoshop document. I

    then added masking layers to each picture, and used the masking tool to blend the images together. I then added myMLK Jr. quote, and changed the color and ont. I then beveled and embossed and the text.

    Process:Using Indesign, I created a flier using the provided text and images. I first created my title, changed the ontand sizes, and then placed my image below it. Ten, I placed and edited my body copy, and aligned it with theinormation to the right. I then added repeating elements by placing a thick black line at various places in my design.

    Process:Using the same logo as my business cards, I created a stationery template with InDesign. I then pasted my logodesign at the top, added a gray straight line and my contact inormation.

    Objectives:Acquire a working knowledge o HML. (Must include all required tags (Doctype (provided), html, head, title,meta charset (provided), & body. As well as tag that links to external style sheet. With in the body include h1, h2, p,ol or ul (with li tags), img, hr, and a ( link to blog) tags.)

    Acquire a working knowledge o CSS. (Customize the Cascading Style Sheet (css) provided in I-Learn to add pageormatting that complements the logo design, by changing at least the ollowing: Te h1 text c olor & backgroundcolor, ont colors or the paragraphs & list items, the background color, Font Families and add at least one csscomment.

    Process:I created my web page using extWrangler, and since I have zero experience with coding, this project was verydifficult or me. I elt really proud with my final project however, but now know I will not be a web page designeranytime in the near uture.
