TEACH US !!! TO PRAY

“Lord, teach us to pray, as John also

taught his disciples.” Lk 11:1

 I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his

friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as

many as he needs. Lk 11: 8

temptation,But deliver us from the

kingdom and the power and the glory forever.

Matt 6:13

(ST CLEMENT OF ALEXANDRIA)

Prayer is, then, to speak more boldly,

converse with God. Though whispering,

and not opening the lips, we speak in silence, yet we cry

inwardly. For God hears continually all

the inward converse.

OBEY

32 And we are His witnesses to these

things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God

has given to those who obey Him.”

Acts 5:32

13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good

gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give

the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

PRAY, OBEY AND SAY  Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to

Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

ST. BASIL THE GREAT ON THE HOLY SPIRIT (CAP. 9, 22-23: PG 32, 107-110)

The Spirit raises our hearts to heaven, guides the steps of the weak, and brings to perfection those who are making progress. He enlightens those who have been cleansed from every stain of sin and makes them spiritual by communion with himself.
