Also known as Tank Bund, it connects the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and has a large monolithic statue of Lord Buddha. The Hi Tech City, at the city outskirts, has been developed to create a favorable climate for these companies and many MNCs are housed. Golconda Fort : Golconda Fort is a Majestic Monument, which lies on the western outskirts of Hyderabad City. It speaks of a great cultural heritage of 400 years and is a place worth visiting. Birla Mandir : Birla Mandir is a beautiful modern temple overlooking the south end of Hussain Sagar, in Hyderabad. It provides an excellent view over the city from the summit. The museum exhibits over 35,000 objects of art like Chinese Porcelain, Aurangazeb's Sword, and Daggers belonging to Queen Noor Jahan, Emperor Jahangir & Shah Jahan, Sculpture, Indian Paintings & Persian carpets, Some of the highlights are the Veiled Rebecca, the translucent white marble statue by Bezoni, the Arms section, The Jade section & the Oriental Section. ICEG-2007 is the fifth International Conference on e-Governance. . It aims to provide a forum for discussing research findings, strategies, policies, technologies and process to achieve successful implementation of e-Governance projects. This conference intends to lay down the agenda for future e-Governance research & activities. As a significant milestone in the journey to effective e-Governance , ICEG-2007 promises to provide an invigorating confluence of the best brains from the academia and the industry. Scientists, Faculty and Students from prestigious institutions across the globe will participate in this mammoth event.

Electronic government is a key driver and enabler to make Governance more effective and to address the Citizens problems efficiently and deliver Citizen centric services in a more responsive manner. e-Governance solutions ensure a more networked infrastructure across Center, state, and local government organizations. There are several critical issues needed to be addressed by researchers and practitioners in this area.

ICEG- 2007 aims:

§ To provide a forum for discussing research findings, strategies, policies and technologies relating toe-Governance

§ To facilitate learning from innovative experiments from real life case studies. § To create an agenda for future research activities in e-Governance and give necessary impetus to them. § Arrive at a set of recommendations for successful implementation of e-Governance projects as a

guidance to share all the stake holders.

There is a need felt to learn from past experiences and identify some of the critical issues responsible for success of e-Governance projects in India These issues need to be deliberated and addressed in the conference and based on the inputs from various stake- holders , a set of recommendations and action plan should emerge from this conference. Keeping this view in mind, a structured “Issue Process Methodology” has been introduced. The presentations on the Issue Process & the identified critical issues will be done during the panel discussions on the last day of the conference.

This conference is scheduled to provide an opportunity of sharing the research findings and leanings from current experiments of e-Governance projects. The conference will be beneficial to Faculty, Scientists, University students, Private sector executives (solution providers), Government officers, policy makers and NGO/ community volunteers from across the globe.

The three-day conference offers attendees a holistic educational experience:

§ Four plenary sessions with nine keynote presentations by experts. § Thirty thought-provoking sessions running along five tracks and a Best Paper award for each track.§ Panel discussions with presentations by Issue Champions

§ Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has been requested to inaugurate the conference
