Introduction

Primary 4 students were given the

opportunity to have their projects selected

for actualisation in the school’s Celebrating

O.W.L.E.T.S fundraising carnival

Why did we do this project?

To raise as much fund for Rainbow Centre:

- Research: Online and ground research

- Outcome: Booths must be fun and there should

be rewards given out.

Background

• Project Work started in 2013

• Actualisation of projects for P4 (Celebrating

OWLETS carnival):

- 2015 & 2016 for all P4 students and

selected P5 teams

- 2017 for all P4 and P5 students

Rainbow Centre Voted by P4 level as the charity organisation of choice to raise

funds for (after assembly sharing of 3 charities. )

Rainbow Centre Benefitted from the funds raised from the Carnival ($12,280.80).

Amount was delivered to the Centre on 6 Nov.

All students/ teachers/ parents of the school

Participants of the carnival get to enjoy the Carnival booths and in

the process also contribute to the community.

Showcase for other students as inspiration for their future projects

There is better teacher-student relationship as we were able to

approach our teachers whenever we meet with problems. They

gave us good advice.

This helps to bring us closer to our parents.

We were able to:

• develop our 3Cs competencies (Curiosity, Confidence,

Cooperation)

• Demonstrate all 6 school values

• learn problem solving and project planning skills and practice for

life-long implementation.

Problems and solutions

Some of the challenges were:

– we did not have good ideas for game and how to attract people.

– we did not know how to make our game.

– we did not know what the content level should be like.

– we lacked manpower and resources on the actual day.

We solved them by:

– looking at examples of real life arcades and fun fairs and

researched on the internet.

– looking for question ideas from the internet

– asking our friends and teachers for their opinion on questions,

popular games and rewards.

– asking for help from classmates, parents and teachers on

making the game and on the actual day.
