Additional Curricular Areas

• Health and Wellbeing - Friendships: What is a friend? Lockdown has made it difficult to stay in touch with our friends. We are going to think about

what you would want from a friend just now and what kind of friend you can be. You do not

need to be best friends with everyone, but you can be friendly and kind.

➢ Task 1 - Look at the PowerPoint about Friendship (in files in The

Other Channel on Teams) and then answer the questions on the

Padlet. Click the link below or use the QR code to access.

https://padlet.com/jenniferhamiltonwylie/x0f9p4v2mkylij34

food chains.

http://d3tt741pwxqwm0.cloudfront.net/WGBH/conv16/conv16-int-oceanfoodweb/index.html

➢ Task 3 – Draw a food web using all the plants and animals from last weeks ‘Local Nature’

Padlet or you could choose to do a wider food web for Scotland as a whole.

https://padlet.com/MrAHepburn/WildLifeInOurLocalArea

Here is an example of a completed food web.

• Expressive Arts - Food Chain Art

Find a food chain you would like to work with. Here are a few examples:

Page 4: P7 Towerbank Learning@Home · 2021. 2. 5. · P7 Towerbank Learning@Home: Tuesday 16th – Friday 19th February, 2021 P7 Towerbank Learning@Home Tuesday 16th – Friday 19th February,

P7 Towerbank Learning@Home : Tuesday 16th – Friday 19th February, 2021

If you can, try to make your food chain one that occurs in Scotland.

To create your art, you will need to place one link of the food chain within the open mouth of

another, so for the first example above, the owl would be eating the mouse, which would be

eating the corn. You will need to consider the sizes of each of the links to ensure they all fit. You

may create your art using coloured paper to collage as in the examples below, or you can

draw/paint/colour it if you wish.

More lines are needed to divide it into four quarters.

What is the least amount of line needed to do this if the quarters are in one piece and all the

same shape?

How many ways can you divide it into halves using just the lines given?

You may use the grids below to show your working.
