    2.1 General Information

The Folder P 700 is designed to process paper format from A5 to A3. The recommended paper weight is between 60-150g//m2, to achieve optimal folding results.

The theoretical fold capacity of the P700 is up to 5200 sheets per hour, depending on the format and the paper quality.

Mailings with invoices or advertisements, information material and documents with staples as well are processible.

The possible Fold Types and Fold Modes are showed in the table below

For detailed information, as installation, settings, processing and handling of paper, refer to the Installation and Operating Instruction manual.

    4.1 Chassis

The special tool bolts have been attached beneath the bearings at both side plates.

Mount the rollers into the chassis.

Mount the side plate and screw it up. Dont tighten them yet.

To make sure that the chassis is parallel positioned, put the chassis on its base, press down the chassis by hands and tighten the screw now completely.

For this its necessary to remove the plastic traverse (1).

Mount the bearings of the rubber folding roller, left and right side.

    Remove the special tool bolts

Add some oil (SH15) to the bearings.

Grease the pinions with Molykote DX Paste or equivalent grease.

    5 Adjustments

    5.1 Paper guide

After disassembling or the paper got incorrect folded in its angle, the paper guides must be adjusted. This provides an optimal fold quality.

Carry out two test folds (A4 paper, mode STD). Primarily use a single fold.

Check if the end of the paper is coinciding folded.

    If not:

Correct the paper angularity by turning the adjustment knob (2) clockwise or counter clockwise (See picture and drawing).

    Note:

Before turning the adjustment knob (2), both paper guide locking screws (1) must be loosen. After the adjustment, tighten both paper guide locking screws, before processing paper again.

    Samples:

Take the folded paper out off the paper collector as it was fallen into. Decide on which side the misalignment is located to:

    1. Left hand side Turn clockwise.

    2. Right hand side Turn counter clockwise.

Repeat this adjustment, as often, till the fold angularity is correct.

    Remark:

Its not possible to receive a 100% coinciding fold. A difference of about 1mm from edge to edge has to be accepted.

    Note:

The Separations Roller (1) is pre- adjusted by Frama AG (torque).

Therefore the Roller has to be replaced as full assembly (without metal support). The screw ((2) of support (3) is correctly adjusted by Frama AG.

Control diameter 34.7mm by pressed down roller.

Adjust if necessary and secure the screw with glue.

5.3 Micro switch detecting position locking lever fold drum

The micro switch has a little play in its screw holes. Make sure the switch is switching at every position by moving the fold drum handle bar.

    5.4 Micro switch paper counter

If the switch is correct mounted, no further adjustment is necessary.

    7 Maintenance / Cleaning

Clean the P 700 from paper dust.

Clean contamination on the intake or folding roller. Use printer roller agents.

Oil all plastic bearings especially those at the main folding rubber roller. Use SH15 oil.

Grease the pinion with Molykote DX Paste or equivalent grease.

Check correct alignment of the folds. Process some fold types.

    Control total piece counter.

For plastic parts and rubber roller, we recommend application of commercial cleaning agent, which is solvent free with antistatic qualities.

In general, cleaning agent as used for Printer and PC and office machines is suitable.
