PACKAGING INNOVATIONS 2011-2012Europe’s showcase for branded packaging and retail design

TM

In Spirit Design are exhibitors and speakers at PACKAGING INNOVATIONS Barcelona. They won a PENTAWARDS Gold Award 2010 at EXPO Shanghai 2010 with this Pascual Seleccion design.

The Isklar bottle had a huge and immediate impact on the shrinking UK mineral water market, for which it won a DBA Design Effectiveness Award. Exhibited by Blue Marlin.

Fantastic bright colours and an innovative modular display are key to communicating Keune’s great range of compact care, styling and hair finishing products in high-end salons.

A great example of range branding: Packaging design focusing on the differentiation in Actibel sponges.

INNOVATE with PASSION

The runaway success of PACKAGING INNOVATIONS took everyone – including the show organisers, easyFairs – by surprise. At the time, it seemed a gamble. Now it seems obvious.

Which is the case with any great idea.

At the time, packaging exhibitions were dominated by technology. But the value packaging delivers is in design. Products would be nothing without packaging. Packaging gets your product noticed.

Many would argue that the greatest advert for the product is the packaging.

PACKAGING INNOVATIONS is now an international event taking place every year in Europe’s “brand capitals”.

Its ethos is simple: innovate with passion.

PACKAGING INNOVATIONS is the event for people whose job is to seduce consumers with the next great idea in packaging.

Inspiration comes in many forms! This unique egg box was born out of a partnership between a sustainable egg farmer and an animal rights group. They needed a rugged, natural look plus a design with “wow” factor ... and found the solution in Enkev’s Cocoform (coconut fibre bonded with natural latex).

The focus at PI is innovation and design, making it precisely the event that marketers and brand managers need

Who visits PACKAGING INNOVATIONS?

The short answer is any professional who is passionate about creativity in packaging. That includes brand managers and marketers, experts in point of sale and retail display, packaging technologists, CPG company owners and CEOs, creative directors and of course, packaging and retail designers.

The long answer is ... a very long list of representatives of the world’s greatest brands, together with quite a few rising stars.

They visit because the show gives them great value for their time. They discover great ideas, identify new suppliers, and hear about the latest trends in packaging – giving them inspiration for their next brand refresh or product launch.

No other show presents so much value in such a concentrated form!

Nice mix between design and brand agencies and structural packaging, nice intimate venue.Mark Bosworth, Product Innovations Manager, Renshawnapier Ltd

The show is about literally thinking outside the box and discovering what else is out there. We have growth ambitions so we must always be thinking, ‘how can we add value to our existing assortment of suppliers?’Karen Graley, Reprographics & Packaging Manager, Waitrose

A show that is oriented around face-to-face contactJuan José Establier, CEO, Ratioform

Who exhibits at PACKAGING INNOVATIONS?

The answer is in the name. We have a demanding and critical audience, so if you don’t have a product or solution with the ‘‘wow’’ factor, or one that is truly innovative, you shouldn’t really be there.

The easyFairs brand, what it stands for and its focus on packaging innovations is now well established… the show is recognised and attended by senior brand marketers and product developers. The quality of visitors is fantastic.Rowan Tinn, Innovations Development Manager, Clifford Packaging

We’ve been coming to PACKAGING INNOVATIONS since it started. We get a good quality of visitors covering all disciplines: not just purchasing but also brand marketers and design agencies. The people who help to drive more business.

Tim Oakley, National Account Manager, Smurfit Kappa

THE EXHIBITORS

easyFairs attracts visitors genuinely looking for innovative ways to package products, not just those searching for cost savings. This is the only show at which we exhibit. Glenn Tyers, Managing Director Ashfield Extrusion Ltd

The exhibitors I have spoken to – and they are many – are all delighted.Keith Barnes, ChairmanThe Packaging Society

We found this event to be busy and upbeat. We have made contacts with many new blue-chip organisations. Well worth attending.Denise Wilcox, Granby Marketing Services
