Page Layout Task 2
Shania Carter
Grids• Grids are guidelines that journalists follow to help them
create a page layout. The grids can be simple or complex, the simple grid could include 2-3 columns and the complex grid containing lots more. Grids are also used to help set the text and photographs neatly into the page. This helps the journalists and the paper/magazine to have a clean and simple look. There are three lots of terminology for grid use:
• Grid – the overall structure of which you are working in.• Grid Units – the area in which the text and photographs are
placed.• Alleys – the areas of the grid which should remain empty.
This is a screenshot of the task with grids.
This is the completed task, saved as a JPEG and without the grid.
This is my second attempt at the task with the grid in place.
This is my second attempt – JPEG version.
My final attempt at the grid technique.
