Once upon a time, there was a prince. He was good looking and very rich. He lived in a beautiful castle with his knights and servants.

One rainy dark night, a woman came to his castle. She was old and ugly. The prince didn’t like her and sent her away. After being sent away, she turned into a beautiful fairy. She cast a spell over the prince and his castle. The prince became a beast. He was no longer good looking. He looked very ugly instead and all his servants turned into furniture.

One day, an old man named Maurice was travelling past the castle. It was raining so hard that he decided to enter the castle. When the beast saw him, he captured him. After some time Maurice’s daughter, Belle began to worry about him.

She started to look for him. Finally, she arrived in the castle and she found her father there. She asked the beast to her father go, but he refused. Belle, then, agreed to stay in the castle so that her father could go home.

While Belle was staying at the castle the beast slowly changed. He was not mean anymore. Belle began to like him and finally they fell in love. Right after she said she love him, the spell was broken. The beast and his servants became human again. Then, the beast and Belle got married. They lived happily ever after.

Last Monday, my group and I had to do a presentation and have a math test. Ten minutes before the math test, we were still in front of the class giving a presentation. Nervous about having the coming math test, the class was not paying full attention.

As for me, math is always an exciting subject, but not that day. I, suddenly, got nervous. So I asked permission to go to the washroom before the presentation was finished.

Panicking due to the ticking clock, I was in a hurry, so I did not see some pieces of paper on the floor, just in front of the class. I stepped on it, slipped and hit the floor. BAM!

My fall was so loud that it totally shocked the class into silence. All eyes were on me. It was not the kind of attention that I wanted, for sure.

The plastic of water that I held was fell out and made my skirt wet. It looked like I had peed on my skirt! I was so embarrassed, OMG!

Poison ivy is probably the most – hated plant because most people are allergic to its sap. Poison ivy can cause a nasty rash and blisters on the skin.

Poison ivy is most easily recognized by its leaf pattern. Although its color varies with seasons, it always has clusters of three leaves.

Some leaves are smooth – edged and some are notched. Some are shiny and some are dull. In the spring, leaves start out shiny and red. This may keep insects away. In the summer, leaves are usually green. In the fall, leaves change its colors with the three. They can turn yellow, orange, and red before they drop off.

Poison ivy can grow in just about any environment. It is most common, though, on edges. Edges of forests, edges of roads, edges of streams and lakes and edges of lawns are where you will see huge amounts of poison ivy.

February10, 2015Dear Annisa Jamilah,

How have you been, Nisa? What did you do during your holiday? Well, my family and I went to Yogyakarta. We stayed at my uncle house’s house.

During our stay, we watched a colossal dance at Prambanan Temple. Have you ever watched such a dance? You know, I had never seen a colossal dance before. I thought it was boring. However, because my uncle invited us to do so, we watched it.

The dance started around 7 p.m. When watching the dance, my opinion changed. It was really interesting! It told us about Rama and Shinta. Do you know the story? All the dancers were handsome and beautiful. They danced very gracefully. When you visit Yogyakarta one day, you should watch the dance. You will be very interested.

After the class was over, I (42)________ the school quickly. My watch showed 2:30 p.m. as I got on my bicycle. I pedaled hard and was soon spending home. My thought went back to the math (43) ______ that I had just had in class. I could remember (44) _______ how I read the formula again and again last night. I was glad that I had studied hard for that test.

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful girl called Maria. She was tall, with black eyes, and long shining hair. The color of her skin was light brown.

One morning, while she was collecting firewood, she met a young man. He looked like a hunter. He was tall, handsome and very neatly dressed. No one knew who he was or where he came from nor did anyone know his name. He did not tell Maria about himself. Maria and this young man became good friends for a long time. They fell in love with each other. Maria wished he would marry her. But the young man never proposed Maria. This made Maria unhappy. She persuaded the young man to marry her. She told that they would be happy together because both of them did not have any family.

The young man did not agree with Maria’s idea. He told Maria that he was not a human being. He was a spirit from the sky. They were different and they were not allowed to get married. Maria was very surprised. She did not know what to say. The young man said that he had to come back to the sky. He did not want Maria know much about him.

Knowing the truth Maria was very disappointed and felt so sad. Maria held the young man’s hand tightly. She did not want to be separated from him. Suddenly, there was a blinding flash of light and the young man disappeared. Maria was frightened when she knew that the man disappeared and he left his hand on Maria’s.

Maria ran to her house and buried the man’s hand in her garden. Soon, she saw a strange plant growing where she had buried it. The plant grew fast and some fruits appeared. The color of the fruit is yellow and it looks like a man’s hand with finger on it. That is how the fruit came to be known as banana, originated according to the legend.
