HUNGER
Hunger is exclusion – exclusion from the land, from income, jobs, wages, life and citizenship. When a person gets to the point of not havinganything to eat, it is because all the rest has
been denied. This is a modern form of exile. It is death in life…(Josue de Castro)
Of the 925 million people suffering from chronic hunger, 98 % live in the Developing World.Hunger, poverty and food prices are inter linked. Not every poor person is hungry, but almost all hungry people are poor. Research and Presentation by: TARIQ SARWAR

14.56 million tons in 1990-91 to 21.5 m.tons in
2005-06. and
almost doubled in present.

RETARDED GROWTH RATE IN 90'S
Average annual growth in real gross domestic
product (GDP)Decreased considerably (from 6.1
percent in the 80s) to 4.6 percent in the 90s
mainly due to poor performance of the
manufacturing, services and agriculture sectors,
so the growth of Agriculture and production is
very important for growth and food security.
