In the last years of secondary school has grown in me a kind of curiosity about architecture.Despite being born in Sassari June 1st of 1984, I spent most of my last eight years in the town of Alghero, where I got to know many people who have given me the opportunity to turn that passion into my curiosity.I have a degree (bachelor degree) in October 2008 in the grad-uate program in urban planning at the Faculty of Architec-ture in Alghero and I decided to continue my education in the graduate program in architecture.Four years later, in April 2012, I graduated in architecture (master degree) with the thesis “The disposal as potential ur-ban industrial areas. The recovery of space of the ex former cement plant at Muros”.I have spent a year at Escuela Tecnica Superior de Arquitectura de Sevilla, which was on of the most rewarding experience of my life. I also took part in national and international seminary.During my college years I was a member of the student associ-ation Arkimastria asapd and I had the opportunity to organize exhibitions, workshops and a series of conferences with ten international architects.I think it is important to expand their knowledge, traveling, seeing new places and cultures, new foods and traditions, new people and habits. For this reason, in recent years, I decided to use my savings to expand my knowledge. Thanks to these new experiences, I discovered that architecture should be lived and the graininess of a material, which is a building, it is a unique experience that goes beyond a picture.area of the city, which becomes, thanks to its privileged loca-tion, a vantage point to view the city, sea and the archaeologi-cal area of the city of Porto Torres.

Social housing in the Ex-Saica Area Alghero_Sandinia_Italy

profesor: Arch. Luigi SnozziTeam: F. Muroni, W. Trova, C. Thzuo

hES(housing Ex-Saica)

The project for the redevelopment of industrial area Saica, overlooking the avenue Joan Busquez and the port of Alghero, city located in the North-West of Sardinia; the project area is part of the course held within the first year of the Faculty of Architecture of Alghero by Prof. Luigi Snozzi. The area designed to accommodate the new urban settlement is about 17.000 square meters, the request of the course is to build 200 housing units (apartments, hotel, student housing, etc.). The project integrated with commercial content on the ground floor and included cars parking. The proposal involves the insertion of a building with a stick, the most significant of the plant, located on the street front with the objective to generate a new front road that does not exist. The building houses the street level a range of services for the city (shops, restau-rants, bars, etc.). And extends vertically through the design of duplex houses. Another building as a home completes the front for the student. The project has, in its retracted position with respect to the front, with the purpose of generating a public square, a hotel, characterized by an elevation of the building, indeed, the building is characterized by the presence of a base transparent in contrast to the facade of the plans above which is made entirely blind. The plant is completed by inserting a series of housing for families included in the back of the building area. The characteristic of this space is that the houses are inserted inside a park created in the large building.

Regeneration process for the Sagrera (Thesis -urbanism-)Barcelona_Catalunya_Spain

profesor: Arch. Ignasi Perez ArnalAcademic Project and Bachelor Thesis

MCB(Mend City Barcelona)SElECTEd FOR vI BIENAl dE PAISAJE BARCElONA

The motion is based on reasoning about the identity of a place characterized by a highly crit-ical condition. In the Sagrera the seniority plays a key role, in fact, has the presence of three different urban patterns (in the end of Cerdà grid, Barrio de Sant Andreu, industrial area); an important role is played by the element environmental, the river Besòs.The proposal is based on the idea of rejoining as a process of urban renewal. The project is always looking for connection between the existing and the memories (old railway axis, river, roads, built) that persist in it.The project also seeks to resolve some issues in program offered by the Rec Comtal (home, high-speed station, support services to the park). The mending of this part by a reason on the critical analysis made by Josep Acebillo in Barcelona and how this could start a process of urban transformation more significant (after Cerdà) of the city of Barcelona. The project attempts to work at different scales, in fact, not only acts on the area, where he insists the old rail route, but try to think about how this could trigger processes on a regional scale. The area of the Sagrera is located at the center of a triangle in part connected to the infra-structure and in part to the element environment. In fact, the Sagrera is at the center of a bounded south from Diagonal Avenue, which reconnects with Plaça de les Glories, north of the Ronda de Dalt and east by the river Besòs.The project proposal, based on the element of formal “line”, is presented as an attempt to mend the pieces of the city, characterized by density and morphologies very different. The “line” is spread along the project area and articulating and heterogeneity in the three dimen-sions of space, it produces the typical complexity of contemporary public places. This “line” can be summed with the other dictated by the railway track, which move in a more sinuous and seemingly free, allowing a very detailed drawing of the ground. Finally, the proposal try to resolve some of the areas of connection, such as that of the con-necting bridges that currently present themselves as marginal sites and social exclusion, the proposal make the core of the links between the new park and the city that insists on it.

Rehabilitation of Ex-Ferril FactoryPorto Torres_Sardinia_Italy

profesor: Arch. Federico Soriano

REF(Rehabilitation EX-Ferril)

The project for the redevelopment of the former Ferril, is part of the course held in the fourth year of the Faculty of Architecture of Alghero by Prof. Federico Soriano. The area intended to accommodate the new urban settlement is located in the city of Porto Torres close to the harbor and the archaeological area. A former factory now abandoned and is surrounded by a situation of degradation occupies the project area. The application of the course is to answer a very specific functional program, through the inclusion of a number of public and residential parts of the park, parking and a function that is completely at odds with the main one.The proposal builds on the theme in two readings, one formal and one relating to the program. The first reading in order to create two very different architectural bodies, a monolithic linked to the territory in a strong and transparent one that generates a visual lightness. In the first building, consisting of a tower and a basement, are inserted in the tower, features luxury hotel with bank and department of revenue and the base housing for artisans and art-ists with a laboratory to showroom and dynamic living space. In the second complex are inserted related services Universities and Research, in fact, the project includes a school with classrooms, a cafeteria, and housing for students.Through the project of a public green you can overcome the difference that accompanies the Rio Mascari, through the use of ramps and stairs that become part of the park of the ex Ferril. The project seeks to answer the questions put by program without altering the character of the place sharply, reflecting on the possibilities of a degraded area of the city, which becomes, thanks to its privileged location, a vantage point to view the city, sea and the archaeological area of the city of Porto Torres.

Project for a Fish Market Castelsardo_Sardinia_Italy

profesor: Arch. Jorge Lobos Contreras

FMC(Fish Market Castelsardo)

The request of course, directed by Professor Jorge Lobos Contreras, is the result of a work-shop held in the city of Castelsardo called Latitude 41 ° N. From the workshop showed that some areas of the city have problems related to fruition, then were selected zones (port, center, area of new expansion, etc.). The project developed is inserted in the area of the port of Castelsardo that has a great po-tential as a tourist attraction, but that is not developed for the absence of effective functions. The city also has a strong tradition of Castelsardo related to fishing, then the proposed project offers a regeneration process where fishing and tourism becomes fundamental for the con-struction of the new building. The proposal involves the construction of building conceived and designed with a single ma-terial: the iron, treated with a special colour used in boats with the aim of resisting the action of water. The building is completely open houses at the bottom of a Fish Market, and at the top of a flight of steps pool and a restaurant. Through continuous openings, the building has a direct relationship with the water, as if to symbolize the relationship of the sailors and the sea.The building since it is a free space hasn’t real entries, the only access is important for the vessels that can access and download the fish through the opening that is created under the staircase covered. Two elevators and staircases of metal ensure the vertical connections, located in the inner part of the building, only space that does not have a direct contact with the water. Finally the structure is constituted by a set of columns 0.5x1.0 and by a system of beams and joists in AISI 304 stainless steel painted with a black paint to chlorine-rubber. The air conditioning system and the electric systems are in view as to define a character and robust industrial building

Project for Museum WeltkulturemFrankfurt_Germany

profesor: Arch. A.Cruz, A.Ortiz, K. Kaan team: S.S. Pala

The project is based on three key concepts: Context, park, exhibition 1. In the site (intervention area) there are many buildings as museums, includ-ing the work of the American architect Richard Meier. Our project aims to integrate it-self with the existing urban context. It is relating to the context in a respectful man-ner. It is not proposed as a new symbol of the area. 2. Now in the project area there is a park. Our proposal is based on the idea of preserv-ing the park and made it a part of our intervention 3. The functional plan is to do an exposure of the works of different cul-tures from around the world. So we choose to work no relating to context so visitors are im-mersed in a world where they are simply attracted by the works from around the world. The project is characterized by the presence of the park at the top. The museum en-trance is a ramp that is located in the side that faces the river Meho. The project involves the in-sertion of a small pavilion for temporary exhibition which is located near the entrance. Final-ly, in the park there is a small parking area that creates a relationship between the park pro-ject and the existence. The entrance to the museum is a ramp leading to the main patio where over-look all the main public functions: bookshop, children workshop, coffee and museum’s foy-er, which is connecting to the auditorIum and to the hall for special exhibition. The muse-um is divided in two parts: one dedicated to the workshop and to the reservoir and the other one dedicated to the permanent exhibition and to the pub-lic study collection. The permanent exhibition area is developed on 3 levels: from -4,00 to -7,00 me-tres. an aim of the project is to make the visitor feel disconnected from the context when he vis-it the exhibition. Height differences are resolved by a set of ramps and with three para-graphs of sorting that create a different atmosphere thanks to the light coming from sky-lights that are at the level of the park. From these areas the visitor can visit exhibition halls going back in the foy-er and then in the principal patio.

MAM(Musica Arte Moda)

The project for the redevelopment of the former Real Fabrica de Artilleria de Sevilla is part within the course, Catedra Blanca, held by Professor Guillermo Vazquez Consuegra at the Escuela Tecnica Superior de Sevilla. The request of the course is to return a function in a building that for years has been an icon for the city of Andalusia, so that, through the regeneration of this area, the project defines a hinge element between two districts of the city.Regard to the proposal involves the insertion of a school of music, art and fashion, so that the building can, look out on the main road and the park surrounding it.The main choice involves the insertion of a body in space called “the courtyard covered”; the decision was to give an appearance of lightness to this element, but at the same time the idea that this body may seem sturdy and comfortable. The outer skin of this element is completely covered with wood and hosts on the inside, a conference room and a room for dancing. The top of this skin has a multiple function can be turned into theatre, space for fashion or in a public space to use the internet. In addition to this element are there other functions of music workshops made in some areas facing the park, a library connected with the “covered patio” through ramps and walkways, and finally a series of design workshops, drama and a bar you are facing the building roof.In addition to this element are there other functions of music laboratories made in some areas turned towards the park, a library connected with the “ the courtyard covered “ through ramps and walkways, and finally a series of design workshops, drama and a bar you are facing the building roof.

hPT(housing Prototye)

The main objective of the Natural House is the research of a new idea of house, that isn’t need to be a house, but a place where the people could spend them life. The idea starts an analysis of the present house, that included a very rigid division of the internal spaces, the project breaks this kind of system, that is the division between natural place and living place; it try to change the character of the building lost in the division between interior and external place, between work and human nature.

Cells make the Natural House, these are well settled functions (eat, sleep, work, cook, etc.) and a space that hasn’t defined function, which varies in relation to the needs ofliving people. All spaces in this project are in close contact with nature, cannot be set because the difference between the inside and outside of the entire house, has become a little park.A reflection of the project is directed to the person lives in a much larger area of the house:home, the city, the park and the planet earth, so are able to design a place that has all these elements simultaneously.

REI(Rehabilitation ex-Italcementi)

Rehabilitation of a ex Concrete Factory (Thesis -Architecture-)Muros_Sardegna_Italy

profesor: Arch. G. Maciocco, G. Sanna, Ing. S. Serreli

This project is articulated into different themes. The lecture of the context’s represent one of the most decisive. This step was helpful to understand which was the real spatial conditions of the building. The cement-factory of “ Scala di Giocca” reveals an specific configuration, but very articulated, this condition is suggested by the fact that the building had to respond to de-terminated requirement due to the productive process. An other important theme was the water, in fact, the river Mascari, which run through the structure in its middle part, influenced the existence of this building at once. “the ex-cement factory space permit a single experience.” The space, which before was definited with a very specific function, becomes, in the project, a servant space through the insertion of two main elements : the introduction stretch of water and the design of a promenade architecturale. The integrated elements then become served spaces which release the building from its func-tion and transform it into a new landscape piece. The choice of deny the building’s function and to design the spaces that haven’t any function is due to the fact that the project, the spacial quality research, the different ways to live it aside from the function and its intrinsic features (matter, light’s viscosity, form, etc.). This determine a new way to see the architectural project in relation to the industrial heritage recovery. In the proposal, the plant reveals the landscape through the regenaration of the Mascari river which appears with a serie of geometric forms that, thanks to the proportions, refers to the cement-factory spaces. The insertion of this new elements, apart from determining a new spaciality and relationship with the landscape, it define also an energetic production system through the insertion of an earth embankment that completes the territory compensation work. Thanks to that there is a water control, that arrives to the pond, making the productive process and generating a new landscape. The introduction of the embankment contributes to redefine the cement-factory entrance. In conjunction with the stretches of water design, the aim of the project is to generate a new system to interpret the space.During the next step, the project turned toward the research of a variation able to bring out the spatial qualities and to permit a complete reading out of the building. The insered element is represented by a ramp that starts where the productive process took end, and ends where it began, it goes through the most significative structures of the old plant. This ramp passes through the rolling-transporting, the revolving oven up to arrive to the chimneys. Beside, the project involves the insertion of a reticular structure that brings back the continuità to the way, without interrupt it.

Project for a housing Complex (International Workshop)Rome_Italy

profesor: Arch. M. Faiferri,A. Aymonino, P. Ciorra, A. Ferlenga, team: D. Cossu Marranci, F. Muroni, D. Idda, S.S. Pala, M.L. Urtiz

hONORABlE MENTIONThis project, is part of the European seminar Villard, it was the eleventh edition. It’s like a competition between the best universities in Europa. The city chosen to develop different projects and areas is Rome: Trastevere, Porto Fluviale, San Saba and Torrespaccata. The seminar, in addition to the steps carried out in the city of Rome, covered the center of Venice, Palermo, Naples, and Paris. The theme was developed together with five other students from the Faculty of Architecture of Alghero, the general idea of the system was to unite, through the project, the areas of San Saba and Porto Fluviale and through the re-definition of public space related the presence of the track walls of Aurelian. The Aurelian walls, as well as outline the area of intervention, are presented as a background homogeneous. The batch of San Saba is now occupied by structures which will be demolished, the proposed project involves the insertion of a number of bodies that work in harmony with the land, the functions provided for this area are: a cultural center , a guesthouse, restaurant and a series of public spaces and green areas that interact with the volumes of the project. The second of the two treated areas is to Porto Fluviale, an area of 40,000 square meters, which is found to have a strong relationship with the river Tiber and with one of the roads with the greatest intensity of traffic (road Ostiense). This area, which in the past was part of the railway line, now offers a major opportunity, in fact, the proposal provides for the transforma-tion of the area into linear park that connects avenue Ostiense with the banks of the Tevere near the iron bridge. The project offers the opportunity to have a base where they inserted a series of activities related to sports and other leisure and relaxation; these are designed to make living, breathing this place during all time periods. They were also provided with two residential buildings one by the other students with social housing, both buildings have a strong relationship with the park, which was built at the top of the base, this with the aim of generating a continuity between space public and residential space.

linked Bridge River (International Competition)Seville_Andalucia_Spain

team: B. Lopez Martinez, A. Puerto Cuadra, F. Romero Varo

The rules of this competition were intended to create a new building to contain a huge sized program which forced us to design a large-scale building. At the beginning of the urban con-text analysis, we asked ourselves about the convenience of the program, and then we under-stood that in the perimeter of the site all the uses were filled, existing an auditorium, parking, commercial spaces and a mediatheque in the nearest context.

We think that Guadalquivir river doesn’t need new uses or new facilities because it has them around itself, It needs new elements to regenerate spaces and avoid the historical abandoned feeling. We decide to do a land-art proposal, through the sequences of a vertical element we get a heterogeneous space where all the views are diffused and variables, creating a soft mist over the river in which a very light footbridge crosses from one to other side.On the other hand, although the program has been questioned, the facilities could be moved to Altadis Foundation building with strong popular support and a deep-rooted religious tradition. We use this building as a possible container of mixed-uses, leaving the river with an urban project that respects urban scale, environment and patrimony.
