On October 3rd, in New York City the Papilio Group hosted a screening of “Girl Rising”

followed by a discussion lead by Kim Stevenson, CIO of Intel and Holly Gordon,

Executive Director 10 x 10.

What is Girl Rising?

Girl Rising is a groundbreaking film, directed by Academy Award winner Richard Robbins, which tells the story of 9

extraordinary girls from 9 countries, written by 9 celebrated writers and narrated by 9 renowned actresses.

Millions of girls face barriers to education that boys do not. And yet, when you educate a girl, you can break cycles of

poverty in just one generation.

Girl Rising showcases the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to

change the world.

The Papilio Group's mission is to build a community of women executives seeking guidance, council, and

support for the purpose of elevating and accelerating their career objectives and the careers of others.

Over forty female executives came together for our fall event to view this Girl Rising and engaged in a critical dialogue about women’s education and its impact on the

world.

The Papilio Group has designated its philanthropic mission as furthering the education of young women in

technology and emerging markets.
