Dear Parents & Carers,
Building renovations
The building renovations in the primary end of
the school are progressing well, Primary 1 & 2 are
coping well in the library and cola area. We hope
to have all primary classes back to normal by the
end of term and look forward to completing the
lovely new outdoor learning area.
Assembly
We all enjoyed our assembly led by Primary 2.
Thank you to Deb and Jymia for entertaining us
well. A special mention should be made of the
fantastic costumes that their students were
wearing. It was wonderful to see so many parents
enjoying the show.

HS 4 HS 4 Welcome to High School 4. Our class is made of seven students in years 8 , 9 & 10. We work together with our
teachers Susie, Jess & Helen to make great personal achievements with our SMART Goals and develop our
knowledge and understanding across all Key Learning Areas.
ART
What a creative start to the year, artworks made exploring art
mediums, colour values as well as learning about the history of
photography. We have enjoyed taking on the role of class
photographers using Polaroid cameras, digital cameras and
school iPads to take photos of objects of interest.
SCIENCE
We are identifying the needs and wants of living
things that are essential to keeping us healthy.
We take turns to care for our class fish Bubbles
and Buddy by feeding them daily, cleaning their
tank and changing their water. Soon we will be
looking into gardens & growing our own plants
and ecosystems.
COMMUNICATION DEVICES
Coby, Setanta and Tess can efficiently engage in class
discussions in literacy lessons operating
Proloquo2Go. Amelia can identify food choices and
engage in lessons using the Eye Gaze software.
Sophie is learning cause and effect using the switch to
independently operate her iPod. Matthew is learning
to express his needs using his Go Talker. Zachary can
use his switch to engage with iPad apps like Choose–
it and turn pages during self– selected reading.
ANCIENT EGYPT
Not only have we acknowledged Gill as our Pharaoh,
we recognise significant people / events from Ancient
Egypt, eg: Cleopatra, Tutankhamen. As well as
recognising features of Ancient Egypt & how it is the
same or different to today , eg: housing, food,
clothing, writing, tools, recreation, celebrations,
education, work and transport.
MOVEMENT CIRCUIT
A new fun morning exercise program that helps us to self
– regulate and prepare ourselves for learning has begun.
The circuit is set up to include a variety of movement
skills and heavy work. We know physical activities are
important to maintain health and fitness.
