Unit Rules The following units should be represented as presented in Codex Space Marines (or as in the Legiones Astartes book, as appropriate): Centurions of either type, all armoured vehicles, standard terminators, space marine bike squads, support weapons and any space-marine specific war-gear referenced herein.. Dreadnoughts (and other units using additional rules from Forge World publications) should be bought in their basic configuration before the addition of Paragons specific rules and any further upgrades thereafter. - Strike companies may designate a bike or Land Speeder squad as pathfinders, granting them the Scout & Infiltrate USRs.

- All non-pathfinders must start in reserve and deploy via deep strike if possible, however when rolling for reserves roll by type, not unit, so all terminator squads would be one reserve roll, all Hoplon terminators another, etc.

- Strike companies may be further specialised into Drop, Jump or Rover, a Drop company may only field models with a Toughness value if they are wearing some form of terminator armour, a Jump company may only field models with a Toughness value if they are equipped with a jump pack and a Rover company may only include models with a Toughness value who are equipped with a bike/jet bike/attack bike or have the Cavalry unit type.

- All models in a Jump company gain Furious Charge, all models in a Drop company may re-roll Deep Strike scatter dice and being chosen in a Rover company grants Move Through Cover.

Watch Companies as follows:- Watch Captains may replace their bolter with a sniper rifle for free or a stalker

bolter with specialist ammunition for 15 points and/or purchase a camouflage cloak, the latter costing 5 points. If they choose a command squad it must have the same upgrades.

- Watch formations must include at least four squads of any mix of the following: Watchkeepers, Myrmidoi, and Scout-Vigilators.

- They may also include the following: Scout-Probationers, Whirlwinds, Predators, Cerberus Tank Destroyer, Mortis Dreadnought, Weapons Platforms, Deredeo Dreadnoughts, Hunters, Dreadnoughts, Vindicator Laser Destroyer, Fellglaive Special Weapons Tank, Falchion Tank-Destroyer, Chaplain (May not take strike upgrades), Librarian (May not take strike upgrades), Exemplars (May not take strike upgrades).

- Watch companies may include a Battlesmith as a secondary HQ choice, if so he may be given a retinue of 5 Paragons adjusted servitors for free.

- After deployment zones have been rolled for but before models are set up the Watch Company player may designate a single piece of terrain as a marked target for off-map artillery. This will land every turn in his shooting phase at S8 AP3 Large Blast. On the first turn it will be treated as though fired by a model with BS3, then BS4 on the subsequent turn, then BS5 on all turns thereafter.

- On the first game turn all models in this force may re-roll all shooting attacks that miss. On subsequent game turns power-armoured models in structures or behind an Aegis defence line may re-roll 1s to hit and scout-armoured models may re-rollfailed cover saves.

Line Companies as follows:- Line Captains gain the Hammer of Wrath special rule.- Line formations must include at least three squads of any mix of the following:

Line Tactical Squads and/or Assault Centurions.- They may also include the following: Ascendants, Devastator Centurions,

Predators, Sicaran Battle Tanks, Paragons Exemplars, Paragons Shining Host, Vindicators, Dreadnoughts, H.Q. Dreadnoughts, Ironclad Dreadnoughts, Chaplains (May not take strike upgrades), Librarians (May not take strike upgrades), Stormblade Tank, Sicaran Venator, Typhon Siege Tank, Land Raider (All heresy-era types), Spartan Assault Tank, Caestus Ram.

- When an infantry unit is within 6” of an objective they are Fearless.- If a Paragons unit wins a combat they can add the number of wounds by which

they won the combat to their consolidation/sweeping advance dice.*= Hoplon Terminators selected in a Banner Company must take a transport, this must bea legal choice for models with the Bulky USR and may not be a Flyer or Skimmer.

As Warlords, Primarch Mereo or a Librarian or a Special Character should use the standard FOC but may also use the unaligned Legions Astartes rites of war.

Special Rules: Primarch (Eternal Warrior, It Will Not Die, Fear, Adamantium Will, Fearless, Fleet, Independent Character), Psyker, Bulky.Equipment: Frag and Krak grenades, the Silver Sun (Mêlée, AP2 S+2, Two-handed, Blind, Force), Aegis of Aquitaine (2+/4++, grants Mereo Hit & Run), Diamond Tower Orb (12” S- AP1 Pistol, Haywire) Old Night’s Ruin (24” S7 AP2 Assault 1 Blast, Gets Hot).

Sire of the Dawn Paragons: Whenever a Paragons Character or Independent Character defeats an enemy character or Independent Character in a challenge they may roll on the Favour of the Primarch table below, re-rolling any duplicate result:+1: Gain Fear +2: Gain Preferred Enemy (Characters)+3: Gain +1 WS +4: Gain Feel No Pain (5+)+5: Gain +1 S +6: Gain Furious ChargeWhispers of the Silica Animus: Mereo and any unit he joins gain Preferred Enemy (Everything) in the second game turn, Precision Strikes/Shots in the third and Shred in the fourth. These rules only apply to the unit when Mereo is a part of it and are lost should he leave/die.

Mereo’s Chosen: If a Paragons Independent Character is killed before his initiative step in close combat or a challenge they must take an Initiative Test, if this is passed they immediately make their close combat attacks as though their step had arrived.

Paragons Line Tactical Squad.Points WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv200 4 4 4 4 4 4 1 8 3+Sergeants have an additional 1 attack and Ld9. Squad Consists of 10 models including Sergeant, additional models may be bought for 19pts per model up to 20 total.Equipment: All marines have bolt pistols, close combat weapons, boltguns, and frag and krak grenades.+ May have a plasma gun for 10pts, a meltagun for 5pts or a flamer for 5pts. For every five models an additional special weapon may be purchased.+ The entire squad may replace their close combat weapon or bolt pistol with boarding shields or add combat shields for 5pts each. + The squad may also purchase jump packs for 5pts each, becoming a Linebreaker Squadand becoming available to Strike companies.+ The squad may, if it has not purchased shields or jump packs, buy sections of Aegis defence line at 25pts each, up to one section per two squad members. This will make them Lineholders and thus available to Watch companies.+ Sergeants may replace their weapons as appropriate from the Mêlée, Pistol and Ranged lists in the Armoury.+ Finally, a teleport homer and/or melta bombs may be purchased for 5pts each.

Paragons Haephestoi SquadPoints WS BS S T W I A LD Sv180 4 4 4 4 1 4 1 8 3+Sergeants have an additional attack & Ld9. Squad consists of five models including the Sergeant. One Haephestoi squad may be taken for each Line Tactical or Lineholder squadselected.Equipment: All models have bolt pistols, close combat weapons and heavy flamers, frag and krak grenades.All models in the squad may replace their heavy weapon with:

- Multi-meltas for 10 points.- Missile launchers with frag, krak and flak missiles for 20pts each.Additionally, Lineholder Haephestoi may also replace their heavy flamers with:- Plasma cannon for 20 points- Lascannon for 25 points- Autocannon for 15 points- Heavy bolters for free.

Paragon Destroyer SquadPoints WS BS S T W I A LD Sv180 4 4 4 4 1 4 1 8 3+Sergeants have an additional attack & leadership 9. Squad consists of five models including the Sergeant. May add additional models at 20pts each up to a total of 10.Equipment: All models have 2 bolt pistols, a close combat weapon, frag, rad and krak grenades.All models in the squad may have:

- Jumpacks for 75pts, allowing selection in a Strike company- Meltabombs for 25 pts

For every 5 squad members one model may replace one bolt pistol by either selecting from the Pistols list in the Armoury or having a missile launcher with rad missiles and a suspensor web for 15pts.The Sergeant may select from the Mêlée list in the Armoury and/or purchase up to 3 Phosphex bombs at 10pts each.Counterattack.

Paragons Exemplar – Elites ChoicePoints WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv50 5 4 4 4 2 4 3 9 3+Equipment: Bolt pistol, close combat weapon, combat shield, and frag & krak grenades.May replace weapons as appropriate from the Mêlée and Pistol lists. May take Strike upgrades in the appropriate army.Exemplars are an Elites choice but do not take up a space on the force organisation chart, instead you may select one Exemplar for each compulsory choice in your army, for example 3 in a standard FOC.Special Rules: Paragons Exemplars are just that, men noted as being shining examples of Astartes, heroes, saviours and protectors of the weak.Exemplar: Paragons models with a T value gain Crusader when within 6” of an Exemplar.Foe Seeker: Must issue & accept challenges whenever possible.Zealot, Independent Character.

Paragons Shining Host – Fast Attack ChoicePoints WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv240 5 4 5 5 2 4 3 9 2+Squad consists of 3 models, may add additional models up to a total of 10.Equipment: Fabulous beast, Power lance, Hoplon shield, frag & krak grenades. One squad member may replace his lance with a relic blade for 10 points.Special Rules: Furious Charge, Rage, Cavalry.Aid Unlooked For: The Shining Host must start in Reserve and have Outflank, they may re-roll the dice for table edge but must accept the second roll.

Paragons Ascendant Squads.Points WS BS S T I A Ld Sv120 4 4 4 4 4 2 9 3+Squad consists of 5 models; additional models may be bought for 18pts up to 10 total.Equipment: Boltguns, bolt pistols, chain-glaives, frag & krak grenades. May choose equipment from the Ranged, melee and Pistol portions of the Armoury.

Special Rules: Paragons Ascendants are men who have been recognized as being special even amongst the Astartes, the Legion’s heroes and future leaders.As such Ascendant squads may be upgraded in 1 of 2 ways:

- Linebreakers for 8 points each, gaining jump packs, lose boltguns, may not select from Ranged list.Deep Strike

- Lineholders for 2 points each, gaining Special Issue ammunition but only one squad member may select from the Mêlée list and none from the pistol list.

Myrmidoi must select their special ammunition type as appropriate to the era of the army to which they belong.

Counterattack.

Paragons Scout-Probationer SquadPoints WS BS S T I A Ld Sv65pts 3 3 4 4 4 1 8 4+Sergeants have Ld9, BS/WS 4 and an additional attack. Squad consists of 5 models including Sergeant; additional models may be bought for 14pts per model up to a total of 10.Special Rules: Scouts, Infiltrate, Move Through Cover.

Equipment: All Scout-Probationers and their Sergeant have bolt pistols, boltguns, close combat weapons, frag and krak grenades.+ The Sergeant may replace his close combat weapon with a powerfist for 15pts or a power weapon for 10pts.+ One Sergeant may be upgraded to Vigilator-Sergeant M'Lewis for 80pts, granting the squad Rending and replacing the Sergeant’s profile with that of a Watch Captain equipped with scout armour, camouflage cloak, a power fist, plasma pistol and sniper rifle.+ The Sergeant may also have Melta bombs and/or a teleport homer for 5pts each.+ Scout-Probationers may also be upgraded to have Camo-cloaks at 5pts per model.

Paragons Scout-Vigilator SquadPoints WS BS S T I A Ld Sv120pts 4 4 4 4 4 1 8 4+Sergeants have Ld9 and an additional attack. Squad consists of 5 models including Sergeant; additional models may be bought for 18pts per model up to a total of 10.

Special Rules: Scouts, Infiltrate, Move Through Cover.

Equipment: Scout-Vigilators have bolt pistols, close combat weapons, sniper rifles, camo cloaks, and frag and krak grenades.+ May purchase melta-bombs for 5pts.+ May purchase a suspensor/hellfire shells equipped heavy bolter for 15pts.+ May purchase a missile launcher for 5pts.+ May be equipped with power armour and lose Infiltrate & Move Through Cover.

Paragons Dreadnought TalonParagons Dreadnoughts, in addition to the default Castraferrum pattern, may be selected as Mortis, Ironclad, Deredeo and HQ types, depending on Company selection. If they are upgraded to Mortis or HQ they may additionally be upgraded to a Contemptor pattern chassis, Ironclads may not and Deredeo patterns are an outgrowth of that pattern to start.HQ Dreadnoughts must either be Chaplain or Librarian types, both gaining It Will Not Die (6+), Chaplains further granting any Paragons unit a re-roll on any failed leadership test when in 6” of them, Librarians have PML1 and a force weapon replaces their default power fist.

Special Rules: Zealot, Independent Character.Equipment: Chaplains have a Crozius Arcanum, bolt pistol, Rosarius, frag and krak grenades. May replace bolt pistol from Pistol list & purchase from the Special equipment or legion heirlooms section of the Armoury.May select Strike upgrades if in an appropriate army. Chaplains other than Echo may not be used as compulsory HQ choices but do not take a force organisation slot.

Special Rules: Independent Character, Psyker (ML2)

Equipment: Force Weapon, Psychic Hood, bolt pistol, frag and krak grenades. Select from the Biomancy, Telekinesis, or Pyromancy disciplines.+ May have a psyber-familiar which allows a re-roll of a failed psychic test per turn. The familiar may be used to ignore a single unsaved wound from a Perils of the Warp source but after that ceases to function for the rest of the game.

+ May replace bolt pistol from Pistol list & purchase from the Special equipment andlegion heirlooms section of the Armoury. May take strike upgrades as described below.

Special Rules: Independent Character, Blessings of the Omnissiah, Servo-Arm, Bolster Defences.A Techmarine may be purchased for each vehicle squadron in a Watch or Line company.Equipment: Refractor field, power weapon, bolter, servo-arm, frag and krak grenades.+ May have a signum for 20pts.+ May be crew for a Thunderfire cannon as described in C:SM (Watch Companies only.)+ One techmarine per formation may be a Battlesmith for 35pts, conferring: 1 additional servo-arm attack, a plasma pistol OR flamer shot per shooting phase and +2 to any usage of the Blessings of the Omnissiah rule. May select from the legion heirlooms list.+ May have a bike for 25pts. (Line Companies only.)

Paragons Company Command SquadPoints WS BS S T I A Ld Sv160 5 5 4 4 4 2 9 3+Squad consists of 5 models, including Apothecary, Banner and Champion.Special Rules: Apothecaries confer the Feel No Pain (4+) USR.Equipment: Bolt pistol, frag and krak grenades, close combat weapon. Additionally, the Champion is a Character, replacing his close combat weapon with a power weapon and gaining a combat shield.+ Any model bar the Champion may select from the Mêlée or Pistol lists.+ Any model may have melta bombs for 5pts.+ May have bikes OR TDA OR jump packs for 25pts per model. Choosing to upgrade to TDA replaces ccw with powerfists and bolt pistols with storm bolters and removes frag &krak grenades. Champion retains his power weapon but replaces his combat shield with a Hoplon and does not gain a storm bolter.+ Champion may replace his power weapon with a Trophy or Relic blade.

Special Rules: As Chaplain. Warlord trait is Bloody Handed.Additionally, Abbadis has the Feel No Pain (4+), Preferred Enemy: Everyone, Rage, Rampage USRs and the Loathe the Unclean SR.Loathe the Unclean reflects that even by the standards of a paranoiac and violent organization such as the Astartes, Abbadis stands out.Make a leadership test on Abbadis if he is within 12” of a non-Paragons friendly unit, a Paragons unit that is falling back or a Paragons Psyker at the start of his player’s turn. Should this test be failed Abbadis loses control of his raging hatred of the Xenos, Witches, Mutants and Heretics that he knows infest all other forces. He, and any unit he is part of, will move their maximum movement immediately towards said unit and chargethat unit in the assault phase. They may not shoot that turn. The charged unit may opt to fall back from the assault, rallying as normal, but if it cannot escape Abbadis’s charge, will fight the assault as normal.This rule can be overridden by either having a Paragons Captain in Abbadis’s unit, or having Primarch Mereo/Master of Sanctity Echo within 12” of Abbadis, as either’s presence acts as a powerful check on his actions.Equipment: Bolt pistol, Crozius Arcanum, Frag and Krak grenades, jump pack, melta bombs.

Preceptor of the 9th, Falco ValetudoPoints WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv205 7 5 4 4 4 6 4 10 2+Special Rules: Independent Character, Exemplar, Foe Seeker.Warlord trait is Paladin of Glory.Equipment: Wrist-gun (6” S6 AP4 Pistol, Blast), Artificer armour, frag and krak grenades, Iron Halo, two Heirloom Blades (Mêlée, S-User, AP2, Rampage, Fleshbane). Falco may select a Banner Company, representing his personal household.This formation may include Bucellarii Terminators as Elites and any number of Exemplars. However it may not take units with jump packs, Rhino-chassis vehicles with no transport capacity or Bikers of any type. It must also include at least two units of Paragons veterans.

Paragons Bucellarii TerminatorsPoints WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv300 5 4 4 4 1 4 2 9 2+/5++Squad consists of 5 models, including the Legion Primus Pilus and Legion Signifer.Special Rules: Huskarl Terminators are Fearless and enjoy the Furious Charge U.S.R. May add additional models for 50 points each, up to a total of 20.Huskarls are a non-slot filling HQ when selected alongside Echo, fielded in other forces they take an HQ slot, aside from Mereo, who may field as many Bucellarii squads as he chooses, only one may have the Signifer and/or the Primus Pilus.Equipment: These are the Legion’s elite, the best of the thousands who have marched to war under the Emperor and Mereo’s banners, as such, they have the finest weapons and gear available, and Huskarl Terminators are equipped with Tartaros tactical dreadnought armour, storm bolters and Huskarl great-weapons, with the exception of the Signifer and Primus Pilus.The Signifer carries the Legion banner and a Huskarl great blade.Huskarl great blades confer +2 strength and are AP2 two-handed weapons.The Primus Pilus is the finest warrior in the Legion, the current holder of the office defeated an Eldar Avatar of Khaine to earn his place, and, by arcane techno-sorceries undertaken by 2nd Legion artificers, carries its burning blade as his own.As such the Primus Pilus has a storm shield and is WS6, S6, attacks as a Monstrous Creature in close combat and may hurl his trophy weapon in the shooting phase, countingas a master-crafted melta gun.

Paragons Hoplon TerminatorsPoints WS BS S T W I A LD Sv175 4 4 4 4 1 4 2 9 2+/4++Squad consists of five models, additional models may be added for 35 points each up to atotal of 10/20.Equipment: tactical dreadnought armour, Hoplon shield and power spear. For every five models in the squad one Hoplon terminator may have a Cyclone missile launcher with frag, krak and flak missiles for 40 points.

- Melta (6” S8 AP1, Pistol, Melta): 10 points- Flamer (Template, S3, AP6, Pistol): 5 points.- Archaeotech (12” S6 AP2, Pistol, Master-crafted): 20 points. May not be taken

by Destroyers.- Volkite Serpenta- Hoplon Shield (4+ Invulnerable save, user may not claim bonus attack for

additional close combat weapon): 20 points. May not be taken by Destroyers.- Plasma/bolt pistols
