Opening scene analysis

The diegetic sound of police siren works in context of the movie because the police sirens in films generally been danger and it adds to the aspect of horror.

The documentary style of filming with close up camera shots of her face makes the audience feel like they are there with her an they see things as she does. This is very effective in horror movies and is mostly seen in the paranormal films.

The glitch sounds and twitches of the camera adds to the horror aspect of the film. As glitches are something that goes wrong in machines, this would represent something going wrong in the film, these sounds leave the audience feeling anxious or fearful.

The fast pace editing of these homemade style camera shots builds up tension do to the pace of the editing, and it gives the audience the feeling that something is about to happen

This scene is the final thing the audience needs to see to know what the film is like. From the tension building up before this scene it gives the audience a sense of how paranormal the film is.
