History

Pare Manyanet

• “Josep Manyanet”(1833-1901) the founder of our school was born in “Tremp” (“Pallars Jussà”, Catalonia.

• He was ordained a priest on April 9, 1859.• For almost forty years he promoted the

formation and expansion of schools.

• “Pare Manyanet” founded two religious institutes in honor of the “Sagrada Família de Natzaret”. Dedicated to Catholic education and instruction of children.

• He also founded other schools in Catalonia: Barcelona, Blanes, Vilafranca, Begues, Molins de Rei, Reus, Sant Andreu…

Pare Manyanet

• Today, these institution is present in countries of Europe, Africa and America.

• He wrote several books and founded the magazine “La Sagrada Família”.

• On December 17th, 1901, he died in Barcelona.

Pare Manyanet

• He was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1984 and twenty years later, on 16 May 2004 he was canonized by the same Pope.

• Pare Manyanet has a TV studio, where primary students learn how to edit a TV programme. 3rd E.S.O. Students (14-15 yers old) also make programs.
