PAC Elections - Get Involved! March 2017 PAC Meetings 7:00 pm in the Library March 9 May 25 – AGM Child care provided! Parent Advisory Council PAC Newsletter At the May 25 PAC meeting, we'll be holding elections for the PAC Executive for the 2017/18 school year. Some of the current executive members have decided to step down due to their children graduating from McKinney or increased responsibilities at work/home, so the following positions will be available: • Chair • Vice-Chair (or could act as Co-Chair) • Secretary These positions MUST be filled in order for the PAC to continue to run next year. Descriptions of the positions are posted on the PAC board in the hall near the school office. If you're interested, email [email protected] and come to the May 25 meeting for the official vote. We'll also be filling other volunteer positions, so please come out and get involved in your PAC. Everyone is welcome! PAC Survey We want your input on how you'd like to see PAC funds spent! Look for the survey being sent home with students after spring break. Income Tax Receipts 2016 income tax receipts for PAC donations have been emailed or sent home with students. If you are expecting a tax receipt and didn't receive it, please email [email protected]. SAVE THE DATE! April 7, 2017 at 7pm Abraca Dazzle Magic Show with John Kaplan Hosted by the McKinney PAC at Hugh Boyd Secondary School Look for your ticket order form coming home soon! PAC Events Coming this spring, a spectacular Magic Show brought to you by the McKinney PAC! See below for details about this fun, family-friendly community event and fundraiser. Another PAC-sponsored event, Dufflebag Theatre, brought smiles to students (and teachers!) faces in February with an in-school presentation of Peter Pan. Fundraising Report We've had a very successful year so far in terms of PAC fundraising. Along with ongoing Food Day sales, we've raised the following. Thanks for your support! • Donation drive - $5,545 • Used books sale - $318 • Movie night - $1,227.50 • Purdy's chocolate sales - $1,661 • Frozen food sales - $675
